What happens when you force out coaches

You force out coaches because you don't believe they have the talent and the players to win in the future.
It's extremely rare for a coach to be fired / forced out, an the next year, a new coach comes and wins right away.
I don't know what you guys were expecting. Our baseball program is not in good shape. Brian Kelly is not going to win the SEC this fall. And our basketball program... well... we gonna have issues for a minute.
If coaching was simply showing up, they would all be successful.
We are facing a pitcher that is an easy first round pick. We aren't going to hit 14 runs off of him. Meanwhile... I don't think we have a single legit SEC starting pitcher.
I think the players and coaches are trying.
I think this is what the bottom looks like.

Was Paul Maineri forced out?

He was shown to understand that given his health issues, he needed to find another way to love the university. It was clearly impacting his ability to coach.

I thought he had to step away because his neck was unbearable.
If Woodward forced him out he’s officially the worst thing to ever happen to LSU.

I don’t think there’s any evidence to support that he was forced out in any way. People had been talking since 2019 that he was close to retiring.

If you have 4 all American in baseball why they can't hit? How did they become all American?
They had a great season.
No one on this team is playing anything close to an All American level.

CPM was not forced out. He could have chosen to stay another year or two. He retired of his own free will.

And he never did and he was raring to come back for more.
I think it was his decision and I think he was under a bunch of "influence."
Otherwise I think he decides before the season and gets a well deserved farewell tour.

The narrative last year was that there was talent and CPM wasn't coaching them to their abilities.
Then they played up to their talent to make a SR.
Now they don't have talent.

45-45 since 2018 in the SEC.

Woodward is an absolute unmitigated pox on this university.

I’ve never heard a whisper that Paul was influenced or encouraged to retire. If that’s your opinion then ok but I don’t believe Paul really fits your narrative here.

Lester earl told me this was the greatest lsu team ever.
They don't even have a good #1 pitcher much less 2 or 3.

Mainieri was running the program into the ground What we are seeing is a result of his leftover mess. It will take a few years to get the talent back to where we can compete. Especially the pitching staff. Hopefully the transfer portal speeds that up. But we have no SEC caliber starting pitcher. That’s on the previous staff

Actually, Woodward is one of the worst things to happen. He has ushered in weakness and incompetence.

A sane person has been found on this board. You're a rarity. Stay strong, my friend.
