I was about halfway down the hill, and I was certain that I heard drums, saw the crowd in front of the band, saw Roy King, and then all of the sudden everyone stopped. I even think the cadence stopped. Was the band just hanging out somewhere around the Indian Mounds?

A lady passed out on the road in between the PMAC and Stadium. EMS were attending to the lady for a good 10 minutes at least. I would assume that's what caused the delay.

It seems lots of people were passing out at the game. CBS, ESPN, and NCAA need to figure out a way to avoid these September day games when the temperatures are expected to be high.

Figured it was something like that. I also thought one of the poor GBFTL members could have passed out in that band uniform fit for Siberia.

ESPN does avoid it...their games are at night. But they are at night due to CBS having prime time games at 2:30. If CBS moved prime time to night, then ESPN would be forced to move their slot to the afternoon.

Why is this CBS's problem? It's not like it was a surprise to anyone that it was going to be a very hot and sunny day. If you have health issues that prevent you from being in the heat for long periods of time, simple solution, don't go to the game.

If you do decide to go to the game take the appropriate precautions:

Wear sunscreen if you're worried about sunburn
Drink plenty water well before and during the game
Don't get so fricking hammered drunk that you completely dehydrate yourself before sitting out in the sun for 4 hours on a hot afternoon.

Sorry that I don't feel sorry for all the morons who VOLUNTARILY put themselves in a situation where they might pass out.

I heard they all stopped at the same time and thought
"hey, lets play something decent today at the half time show" and then they all decided not to.

I believe a couple did in the stands but that was later in the afternoon. I heard a rumor a cheerleader had issues also.

It was way too hot for a game. Just ridiculous.

What about the players, cheerleaders, staff, etc? It just seems unnecessary to play in these conditions. Rain is less predictable and less dangerous, so I understand why they wouldn't reschedule. I also understand that there are TV contracts, etc that force games to be played at certain times. But shouldn't fans' and players' health come before that?

Our fire instructor was at the game to watch. We'll he went to the restroom and passed the health unit and asked if they needed help because it looked more like a triage area. He said it was insane.

A simple solution would to have the day TV games for up North and the night games be at night for the South for the first few weeks of the season.

My friend - This remark only allows one to conclude that you are a panty-waist who has no earthly idea how hard the band works to provide losers like you a chance to complain.

For reference, how about asking the football team how they feel about the band? You'll have to wait until they finish singing the LSU Alma Mater with the band at the end of each game, though.

I agree. No day games at TS until Oct. we historically started games at7:00, 7:30, or 8:00 pm for a reason

Yea, let's just move all televised games in the south to a 6:00/7:00pm time slot. That will work well...

We were standing on the PMAC side and saw it happen. The 10-15 police officers and EMS laid her down on the hot asphalt right in the middle of the street, then took about 10 minutes fanning her face. All the while no one gave her water or tried to move her in the shade. It was a little ridiculous.
