If you are that intent on running a package like that put Ware or Shepard at QB.

You can't center your offense around broken plays, unless Cam Newton is your QB.

Unlike you, I've learned to give the man some credit. Trust me when I tell you, it was begrudgingly. I'm sure that there are plenty of my previous posts archived to support this.

I would go so far as to say that IRL, you have given Miles credit when he deserved it, but your internet persona will not allow it. And that's okay by me, because I like your sense of humor.

Shepard is pretty lousy runner inside the box. Ware is a great runner inside the box. The wildcat package requires the QB to run inside the box.

Happy?

maybe it is the 112th total offene in 2009 and the 100th ranked offense last year...just a guess. lol.
89th Total O this year and faced one, suspect at best, SEC D.
We are actually getting less yards per play this year against lesser defenses (25% FCS)so far.

You can't judge the offense by what they do against WVU and Oregon because those aren't SEC defenses. We only scored 19 against State so there is definitely lots of room for improvement.

The only game that Jefferson fans stammer about was against a non-SEC defense in Texas A&M

in a true wildcat, yes, you want shep in motion for the sweep. But with the retard JJ package, Shep would still be better at it than JJ. Hopefully, Krags can clean that crap up too.

That's going to open up the PA pass, and RR or OBJ is going to burn one of these teams with it down the road.

Actually, the play action pass hsa been working real well already w/o RS or JJ.

Do we need a running QB that badly?

Some people are convinced you do. I am not.

If we want to run from the QB position, snap the ball to Shep.

I agree. Up to now, the offense, although not spectacular, has been doing what I think the staff wants it to do. I'm content having a QB who hands off the ball on running plays, passes the ball well on passing plays, reads the defense adequately and then using RS or SW if we want to run out of the pistol/shotgun.

;No, it isn't. But even if it were, I am very content with averaging 170 yards a game passing, with actual TD passes, and very limited interceptions......our offense is very balanced....anyone who complains about total yards from this offense, given the field position we have had, and success we have had on offense, obviously knows very little about football......

The "retard JJ package" netted 4.6 ypc last year.

We have still played a disproportional amount of top 25 teams(75%) vs the rest of the country. That figure should rise as teams enter conference play and we get some easier opponents(Kentucky, WKU, Ole Miss).

Also, we have had incredibly short fields and leads all year because of our defense and turnover margin. Can you honestly say that last year the numbers were low because of anything other than just lack of production when we needed it?

We are at 7.3 ypa which is #62 nationally.

That's a better reflection of the passing game than average passing yards per game.

I agree, the offense was better last year. What I can't figure out is why the 3 and outs are so dramatically reduced this year, since we get less yards per play. It just doesn't add up to me. To me, that is probably the most important offensive stat out there, and it just doesn't make sense. Can you explain that one to me. I agree with your premise that JJ was better, and our offense was better last year. All you have to do is watch this year's offense, and last year's offense, and there is absolutely no comparison. Much more explosive last year. This year may be more consistent, but me, I'll take explosive any day of the week over consistent. I agree with your post. You actually get it and are a smart guy.

Much better to have Jefferson with the threat to pass, imo.

That's the idea.

It has very little to do with running ability and more about defensive keys.

We averaged over a yard more per carry last with Jefferson opposed to Lee because it requires the LBs to account for both guys. While no one was expecting Lee to take off between the tackles.

It also keeps the safeties at bay due to the passing threat.

I was kidding...I thought the sarcasm would be easily readable...lol...it's not even close. Last year, if we got third and long...it was usually over...it's nice to actually feel like we have a chance to pick up a first on third and long now.......I love the balance of this offense...what is it, about 50/50?....and getting better. Some people just really aren't that smart. One poster actually made an argument against his own post without even realizing it...saying we didn't have many yards etc....but then saying what would we do when we finally had to drive the length of the field since we have had great field position.....he didn't even realize that was the reason for less yards....lol....
