He seemed like a Mark Ingram type. Incredible balance and a heavy hitter, but had better break away speed than Ingram. I remember him having a good spring two years ago, but haven't heard his name called.

sorry fricked that one up by saying haven't seen his name called

Im no Ingram fan, but you are comparing a Heisman winner to a guy that has never played? Those are some purple and gold glasses.

Played in 5 games as So --- no offensive stats, per LSU website.

Still on team --- listed as Fullback.... so he's behind a #18 now --- not likely to see a lot of action on offense, I suspect.

LSU simply has an abundance of talent --- great HS players become "average" and sometimes don't get to play.

See -- Savion Smith, for example. It happens with that talent pool.

I said seemed. Im not comparing them now, just saying i was excited about him coming out of high school because of how he was then coming into his freshman year.

He's really nothing like mark ingram. His body type and speed were more Devin White than anything.

He's just not made any moves on the depth chart. Physical tools don't always mean great football player.

Our offense was not very diverse and he was not going to pass up Fournette or Guice. I have a feeling that athletes will have a better chance of being more involved.

I saw an article and a thread that compared Ducre to an H-Back from Pitt and talked about the possibility that Ducre could see a good number of snaps at H-Back.

There was a similar thread earlier in the summer.

Sometimes recruits just don't pan out. No amount of great coaching is going to turn every player into a standout. Some guys have all the physical ability but just can't put it together on the field.

We have some dumb fricks in here! Comparing two things does not imply that you think they are equal. What he wrote was...

That does not mean that he thinks Ducre is as good as Ingram.
And BTW, a Heisman is not much of a credential anymore. Plenty of guys who were not great have won the Heisman.

Ducre is the most hybrid, it appears, of them all. He’s the only F-back on LSU’s roster whose position is listed as a hybrid: FB/TE. Ducre, at 6-foot, 235 pounds, is made in the mold of Pittsburgh’s George Aston, listed at 6-foot, 240 pounds. Canada heavily used Aston last season in Pitt’s offense in the F-back role. Aston finished with 10 touchdowns, five rushing and five receiving. He used Aston to exploit defenses, especially in the red zone.

All of the blocking TEs and FBs on the current roster are competing for one H-back/FB position in the new offense while the old regime would regularly have the extra OT/TE blocking body and the blocking FB role.

JD Moore is the clear starter
BryKeith Mouton is 6-1 260lbs
F.Moreau and Caleb Roddy are both going to be put in the backfield at times and are over 260lbs

Ducre is 6-1 238lbs so unless he has some of the quickest feet and best hands in the TE/FB room, I don't see why he would expect more playing time this season than in previous years.

There are 8 players on scholarship at FB/H-back/TE (Moore, Roddy, Moreau, Mouton, Ducre, Pettigrew, Washington, and Carter). That is one fewer scholarship player than our entire OL currently.

Sad roster management and recruiting by Miles for being such a power-oriented team.

Canada can do a lot of damage when TE/FB. He knows that defenses can tend to overlook them as blockers. I see a lot of short quick runs and throws to our deep stable of FB/TE's

I'm not sure how or why you are spinning this as Miles fault. Are you saying we don't have enough OL? That's hard to put on Miles given all of the departures this offseason

Even in the NFL, it's hard to find TEs/H-Backs that can both catch and block well. Usually, they're better at one aspect than the other.

So, if some can catch, others can block, maybe a couple can do both and some need time to learn the position, it shouldn't be surprising that a POWER-ORIENTED TEAM would have several.

But, hey, good job of finding another way to bash Miles.
