I'm not talking about his effort, i'm talking about his shot selection, JOB should not be shooting multiple 3's in a game, ever.

He doesn't usually do that, but I guess he had the green light tonight if he was open (and all of them were open that I recall). I remember Big Baby doing the same thing, it's frustrating.

no it hasn't, La. has had shite for in-state recruits for the last few years, hell the top rated recruit since TJ has been here was Derenbecker iirc. Gathers (LSU in the running) and Morgan (LSU commit) are both 4 stars and good talents.
Whatever you do, don't go to ESPN and look up how Langston Galloway is doing at St. Joseph's.

Yeah, it is. I'm cool with losing (i'm used to it by now) on the road to top 25 teams, but not with that horrible shot selection, stupid turnovers, and no offensive scheme.
Posted on 1/25/12 at 11:04 pm to josh336
I really hate how such shot selection immediately turns into points the other way.

Sigh...

Me too. We hang our hat on defense, and thats fine. But you can't take stupid shots like that as a defensive heavy team.

Trent made the decision to go after Derenbecker instead of Galloway, obviously that was the incorrect decision looking back on it, but Derenbecker was supposed to be better than Galloway when they were being recruited

NCAAs or bust. If the AD doesn't do something he needs to go.

He doesnt have to make the ncaas but Christ, he has to make the NIT. shite this is year 3 of sucking. I know they played hard at the end tonight but they also looked like chickens with their heads cut off to start the 2nd half. The sad thing about tonight is that if they would've rebounded just a little better or had a remote semblance of an offensive gameplan, they would've won convincingly tonight. The football team sucks arse one game and the pitchfork carrying mob comes out of the woodwork, but going on 3 years of on court abortions gets this bastard an extension. WTF

And let's be honest (for those that watched the damn game), a couple of Harlem globetrotter 3's kept this from being a double digit game. They didn't start showing a surge until it was too late. It's not like they played well the whole game and got beat at the end. They goofed around and in the end this team gave a good effort, but they never should have been in that situation.

Who is Trent and what job are you talking about?

We led most of the first half.

How did that 1st half end? How did that 2nd half start? Oh an 11-0 run in less than 1:30

Oh noez, the #16 team in the country went on 11-0 run. At home.
I wonder where that stacks up in the NCAA record books.

We contributed alot to that 11-0 run. Along with much of their success tonight. They need a new coach.

Did you even watch the game? Watching this offense is absolutely painful, one guy has the ball and the other 4 sit around with their thumb up their arse. This is as boring and pathetic as it gets.
Posted on 1/26/12 at 12:45 am to Sheep
I think our main problem is depth. Without depth we can't press. Without the press the easy transition baskets aren't available. Without those easy baskets we are forced to run a half court game which doesn't play to our strengths. We are not a talented shooting team and very few of our players can create their own shot off the dribble. I think we give him one more recruiting class to build depth and a chance to develop our younger players. But if he has similar results next year, he is gone.

He should have been gone after last season IMO
Being the worst basketball team in the SEC for back-to-back seasons is no simple task.

They who?
State?
Stansbury has averaged 21 wins a season for 13+ years (they'll probably win 25 this year), with 10 postseason appearances (and they got shite on last year, so it should have been 11.)
Yeah, run his arse out of there.
Maybe they can get Phil Jackson to Starkville.
