What does Trent need to do to keep his job?

At 2-4 in the SEC it isnt looking good.

They added another year to his contract last summer so I would be surprised if his job is in jeopardy.

This, as long as he doesn't tank the rest of this season (meaning going like 1-9 or 0-10 the rest of the way). LSU doesn't want to be changing coaches this offseason because La. finally has a little basketball talent graduating HS that we really don't want to lose

Everyone knew that we would be about 2-4 right now. I was hoping to win tonight but I'm not surprised based on the schedule that our record is 2-4 right now.

Guys played well tonight, and could have won. 2-5 is likely but after that, I think we have some very winnable games.

Oh I agree, I was just answering his question. I fully expected us to start 2-5 but then I feel like we'll win 5 of our last 9 at the minimum (I could see us winning 7 games out of 9 tbh).

The end of the year will really dictate his job standing.

I think as long as the team continues to play the way they have been, he will keep his job easily. You can tell the team has improved, but the rest of the SEC has as well. But last years team would have lost the game tonight a lot worse and we got out rebounded by like 20.

For sure, we've got to win the games we are supposed to win.
I know some of the TJ haters don't believe this, but us making the NIT this season (still a very realistic chance of happening) is a positive result for the program.

What the frick was that tonight? I just got finished watching the game. What the frick was that? The inexcusable shots....the stupid turnovers, Turner looking like the worst player on the team, why, how?

2-4 isn't good, but already has as many wins as last year in SEC and will likely pick up a few more at least. Plus, he finally got some good young freshman talent in Hickey and O'Bryant contributing and Hamilton is stepping up and should be back. His job will not be in jeopardy this year.

This has been the excuse the last three years.

He might need to be benched for a game to get him motivated.

Just keep his usual low profile and not piss off any bigwigs. Not enough people give a shite about LSU basketball right now for him to get fired. If LSU finishes 3-13 in conference, he'd be in trouble, but 3-4 more conference wins definitely gets him another year.

Precisely. And honestly, you do not keep a coach around based off potential recruits. I'm not calling for trents head, but enough of the excuses for this man and team.

stupid shots, stupid turnovers, not being able to rebound and missing free throws cost us tonight. we do anyone of those fricking things better and we win. Its a horribly frustrating loss

Seriously, him and JOB need to get a slap to the head. Awful shot selection and decisions. And I'm really getting tired of our "chuck it up from wherever you are on the court" defense. I've been a big TJ supporter. It just doesn't look like we have a good offensive scheme. No one can take a defender off the dribble, or doesn't try to.

NCAAs or bust. If the AD doesn't do something he needs to go.

It was his first game back after being out for 3 weeks and was wearing a glove that seemed to make it hard for him to use his hand in catching the ball. Turner I agree with though
