Is it a game of competition or just a glorified scrimmage?

Does the outcome mean anything to you?

If we win, what does it say?

If we lose, what does it say?

I see this as an important game on the national stage for the program. Regardless of who is not playing, this team needs to show that it has the talent and depth to win tomorrow.

With the lack of depth, we will get some reps out of our younger guys that will play next season.

I’m excited to see them

That Orgeron took a depleted team with a ton of distractions and still beat a quality opponent in a game that would normally be hard to motivate the players for.

Honestly, I think a win in this game would be an impressive coaching job by him. And I'm not an Orgeron fan.

I think an LSU team that goes out and thoroughly takes care of business would be a very positive comment on the head coach.

Kickstart to next year with a W.
Bad taste doubled (after the aTm game) with a L

Want to see a productive offense and an Aranda defense with new faces.

Bowl games are a really good measure of who is on the rise in a program. Great players make steps forward during offseason, bye weeks and bowl practices. It’s where young, up and coming guys get a chance to move up because the coaches have time to do more than just game prep. With so many guys out for this game on defense, we really get to see who’s ready to make that move.

It means I have the opportunity to take my 11yo son and my bride to their first LSU game as he was born and raised here in Scottsdale and she is from California.

It also means that they better Fukn Win the Game!:)

Loss would be an embarrassment

Last 4 games:

Loss to Bama
Struggled to beat the worst team in the SEC
Meaningless win vs one of the worst teams in the country
Loss to TAM

So losing 3 of the last 5 and looking like crap in a win would be Sumlin-esque.

Bowl games always mean a lot imo.

Not so much about this year, but setting the tone for the year to come.

A long offseason dwelling on a loss is never a good thing, but a big bowl win ends everything on a good note and sends departing players off in style and gives incoming players (or potential recruits) something to feel positive about before making a huge decision.

Getting a 10th win in a bowl doesn’t change an otherwise average year into a great season, the same way it didn’t in 2013 or 2015, but it means a lot for where things stand going into 2019, which has the look of a championship type year.

The game tomorrow is a means for me to get together with some good friends, cook a big NYD lunch, get hammered, and watch the game while we hang out.

If the game sucks, it means I will not watch it and hang out with my friends and family.

Who gives a shite. At the end of the day O is still the coach and SE will bring another crappy offense for the 2019 season.

How about breathing some life into this program and hiring a competant offensive coordinator.

This. If Coach O pulls out this win and locks down a top 3-5 recruiting class then I would say he is on his way to putting LSU back where it needs to be. That could easily change next of the offense doesn't improve though.

Tomorrow means another opportunity for O and LSU to take another step up the ladder to becoming among the elite of college football. Up to this point each time O has come up short. Last year was the opportunity to win 10 against ND. 4th and inches on the goal line, field goal. Loss!

This year against aTm, chance of winning 11 games for the year, possible Sugar Bowl and to continue winning streak against them. And oh, how about beating Jimbo whose team is not rated and an underdog to LSU. 4th quarter, all is needed is a first down. Play scared and not to lose. Loss!

Now here we are again, opportunity to win 10 games for the first time since 2013 and go into the off season on a positive note. Again favored against an opponent. Statement game as relates to an undefeated smaller team against an SEC opponent. Hopefully the pattern does not continue because if it does, another loss.

LSU must be almost perfect if it is to return to elite status. No bowl games can be unimportant. LSU must hit on all opportunities. I recall when we as LSU fans looked down on the fake Clemson Tigers when we had them in a bowl game. At the time Clemson was climbing the ladder to elite status. We were their opportunity. They did not squander their opportunity on the theory that bowl games are meaningless. Since that game Clemson has replaced LSU at the top of the heap. And can claim we are the fake Tigers and fake Death Valley.

At this point, every game is a must win game if LSU is to return to elite status and the college playoffs. Florida, this year, was another squandered opportunity and an underdog. LSU has lost games to too many underdogs the last two years to be taken seriously in their quest to climb the mountain back to the top of college football.

Lose this game and LSU is still the mediocre team it has been recently. Win this 10th game and LSU goes into the off season with a positive momentum and will be rated must higher going into the 2019 season. All needed to climb that mountain. No excuses, beat the teams you are favored against and upset a few you are an underdog to. That is how you regain your elite status. Missing opportunities insures your non-relevance as a national college football power. there are no meaningless games. LSU must always be on a mission.

I feel exactly the same way you feel. For me it is a must win game for LSU.
