New tougher coaching staff with higher standards and more intelligence.

both can arguably be on equal footing.

IMHO, the overwhelmingly obvious answer is an OC who can devise a teachable scheme that accentuates the assets we have on hand and can be efficiently called in real time game situations.
Crowton must go.

HC is fine. He's a proven winner and recruits among the best in the nation.
1. OC
2. QB
3. QB coach/passing coordinator
Plenty of bright, energetic OC's out there to replace the "Wizard"...
If Mettenberger signs, he'll answer LSU prayers. If not, God help us until Stephen Rivers can develop into a collegiate, SEC QB (JJ and JL are the former but have never accomplished the latter).
Seems the LSU QBs aren't getting much development at all. WTF? Does Crowton hand them a playbook and say "see ya later"?

1. QB coach-to coach up an average qb
2. Offensive linemen-doesn't matter how good qb is if he doesn't have time to throw.
3. QB-good qb play makes OC look good
4. OC

OC !!!
He will not risk his career on the current starting QB. That way you are sure to get both

QB is by far #1
OC is a distant 2nd

We need Les to be his own OC.
Seriously, can anyone give me a good reason why he shouldn't?
