Jarret Lee 80 yard bomb to Reuban Randle and Reuban gives his best smile at the crowd.

Russell Sheppard lines up in a "wildcat" type formation, gets the snap, fakes the run (which everyone assumes he's going to do) and hits Ruben Randle on a post route.

we're saving that for a real game

Jefferson throw a 5 yard slant 120 mph and puts a huge bruise on RR's shin.

Not likely until we have success at running. That play is more of a counter.

Nope but I was premtively countering those that are angry we are "not getting the ball in the hands of our playmakers, when we have so many great athletes" or frustrated that "Miles only wants to run a Big 10 offense with ground and pound running."

Just pointing out before all of the moaning and groaning that for the first play of a game, a run up the middle with a strong running back is widely accepted and good call even when you are a team with other weapons.

Furthermore, if it goes for 4 yrds I will be very happy.

I think they need to practice that option play a lot more. Running that first will give them that many more reps during the game to try and perfect it.

All are wrong.

Ridley up the gut for 4 yards.

JJ pass over the middle to Deangelo. 1st down!

It never gets to 3rd down on the first series.

This sounds about right, lets just hope it don't happen. That was funny though.

What it should be:

"I" set right, 2 Wide, play action pass with X running a post, Z running a drag, and Y running an out. I think we're 5/6 on play action passes this season.

What it will be from the Wizard:

Shotgun, single back, 3 Wide, read option dive with no lead block for 2 yards.

A repeat of the handoff reverse pass LSU pulled off against 'Bama in '07. JJ gives it to Ridley who hands it off to Shepard on a reverse; Shepard then surprises the Miss State Defense by pulling up and throwing a pass to either a wide open Randle or Tolliver. Takes the wind out of the Bulldogs in the first 10 seconds of the game. Booyah!

Nothing to lose and it will keep the Miss State Safeties guessing all night everytime Shepard gets the ball and starts running out to the sidelines.
