Well whether it's good or not, what he is bringing is most definitely "already happening"
Without question.

you don't know crowton, he's like a holy man, a saint, very thougthful, he didn't belong in the NFL. he's one of those very smart straight "A" student without hardly studying types, he very understanding and very patient, Billy G is the opposite, should work

something i never saw dj mac do his whole time here..all he did was pat guys on the head
yeah ya know, except for that time at SC in 08 when he told Byrd "catch the frickin' ball" and you could hear it on nat'l TV.
anyway, like someone noted earlier, he'll be bringing some spread option stuff, it'll be interesting to see how/ what we implement. I believe some of the staff visited UF before last yr and tried to implement some stuff (wasn't Lafell the pitch man on some option stuff vs Vandy?), but as with a lot of things we did, we seemed to use it once and forget about it.
I'm really hoping he can turn Shep loose a la Harvin and get big things out of DPete like UF did with Ingram and Hernandez.

Someone new for message board experts to blame for whatever may go wrong?
You know, to more widely distribute the heat put on Miles, Crowton, Stud, et al?

I'm not sure why everyone thinks the former Florida wide receiver's coach is going to revolutionize our putrid offense.
yeah me either. I had a post a few weeks back and this was my point.

we have nothing to base 99% of the posts in this thread on....but everyone likes to pretend like they know anyway.

LSU must be the hardest team to be a fan of in the country, as LSU fans know the least amount their team compared to other fans in the country.
WTF are you rambling about?

I am just wondering what got him here to begin with
Some say he was upset about not getting the OC job when Mullen left and there were also rumors he was at the party where the UF player for the DUI.
anyway I don't see Gonzalez being the offensive savior some seem to be hoping for. I think his knowledge of the spread will help, and he should clean up are WRs game.

Some of CUM's offensive game plan and philosophies...

To be honest there is no way to know how much effect he will have. What I do like (besides his recruiting abilities) is his fire. We will have an offensive coach's presence on the sideline to get in kids ears in person. What we do know is that he is certainly not a down grade from McCarthy. He is a better recruiter and does so without paying for their apartments.
I hope Crowton listens to Billy about the spread and keeping it simple for the kids like they do at UF. It's about execution of the plays, not the complexity to trick the opponent.

the best thing bg can do is figure out how to use shep. I don't know why everyone says he is a great recruiter. we don't have any florida players in this class or out of state wr. he got boone from texas tech last year after their head coach was fired. not a huge accomplishment.
if he is so good, lets see him get ely or maybery or paul or lyons

Hopefully he utilizes Russell Shephard in some way like he did Percy Harvin.

If nothing else, we should have fewer penalties from receivers lined up in the wrong place.

If he brings 2-4 more pass completions a game he could be the difference in games like we lost last year.
Posted on 8/2/10 at 10:10 pm to faxis
This will depend entirely on whether or not he is allowed to coach.....
We'd better damn well find a way to open things up and use some of the talent we have....This may be the man to show us how...
If we learned anything from last year, it's kind of important for everyone to be on the same page. We weren't all the time, and that's why we were 9-4 instead of 11-2.
