This is the most bullshite argument I've seen regarding TJ on this board... LSU never made a Final Four under Brady if you exclude 2005-06, same argument seeing as Brady was handed that team on a silver platter (Baton Rouge will never have that much talent come out of HS ever again I'd bet). Stupid to exclude years that don't support your argument.

Brady finished 6th place in the West 5 out of his 10.5 years here, just saying.

Facts:

52-54 at LSU
20-35 in SEC

25-36 at LSU with his own recruits
7-32 in SEC with his own recruits

2010 - Last in SEC West
2011 - Last in SEC West

I'll wait while you show me how he was worse than Brady was at this point.

I've got all day.

ETA: Your "facts" are wrong, BTW. So, I'll wait while you fix your facts and THEN tell me how Trent is doing WORSE than Brady so far.

I've still got all day.

I think the jury is still out. But I'm not irate right now because this is exactly where every person thought the team would be right now. It was a tough early stretch, everyone knew it would be a tough month. What happens in the next month could dictate his job security. I thought Arkansas was a must win, and we got it.

I don't disagree with anything you said there. However, I just think his gameday coaching appears very flawed and it leads to a lot of the late game collapses. At some point, he needs to jump down a player's throat for taking 3 terrible shots a game. At some point you have to say, "If you shoot one more 30 foot jumper, you're on the bench for the rest of the half." The lack of team leadership goes beyond our "youth."

I don't think NIT is unreasonable this year with a strong push for NCAA next year.

I do not think JC was the route to go because those players may or may not graduate which affects your APR

My biggest complaint was not replacing Keith Richard with someone that had ties down in this area - that was a big mistake. Imagine if you add a Brian Williams to this team who is at Okla St right now.

As do I, as well as a graduate degree to finish.

So, I'll translate for you:

"I have no basis for an argument, other than my opinion, as I've already been proven wrong in every other aspect."

As has been stated once before:

"You're out of your element, son."

I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm willing to be most of the players on his 2009-2010 team weren't his recruits, and possibly even some of the kids on last years team. I'd like to see a breakdown

Ooh, a graduate degree.... That's some serious weight you're pulling.

What about those stats were wrong? I'm not afraid of you correcting me, but I'm not going to go chasing down stats to argue. If you want to correct them, correct them.

You are also resorting to nitpicking stats as a way of avoiding the overriding fact that we have sucked for the vast majority of Johnson's tenure.

No, I intentionally left Brady's team off. I'm treating that year as a Chan Gailey Superbowl. Not a true indicator of Johnson at all.

Lets see- 4 years total.

1 great, 2 bad, 1 not yet finished....

Either way, there is obvious PROGRESS being made. No one is happy with LSU being a mediocre basketball school. We all want to go to Final Fours every year.

TJ is having to build a program up from basically scratch. That is why it is taking time. Add in the fact that Louisiana has not had the basketball talent it had the past decade.

And you are saying the team is full of his players when he has maybe 1 or 2 of his recruits actually playing? Thats not nit picking or anything

All of them, you dumb bastard. Conference wins? Wrong. SEC wins? Wrong.

Record "with his recruits?" Great! Please eliminate any games in which a Brady recruit (like Storm Warren) played, OR any games in which one of Johnson's recruits (Stringer, Turner, O'Bryant) missed a game. So we can get a good, accurate number.

You said upthread that Brady was further ahead of Johnson at this point.

I showed you that you were wrong at every possible measure, with the exception of Brady winning two NCAA tournament games to Johnson's one.

As opposed to only choosing stats that fit your narrative? GTFO.

You really are a sharp one. I chose those stats to point out how facts can be used out of context.

Please show me the correct number of wins. I'm sure you'll correct me and show me that we were not downright terrible the last two years. As for the numbers, sorry, I went to TJ's wiki entry. It was the easiest place that had the numbers compiled. I'm not chasing a media guide.

Nonsense. He had a roster when he got here. Was it a great roster? Actually, yes. Was it a deep roster? No. How many new coaches come in with a loaded roster?

Nobody expected him to make the tournament each year, but the program regressed to an all-time low on his watch.

Okay, so I double-checked. You are correct, I said he finished 11-20 in 2011. I was wrong, I left off a loss.

2010: 11-20 & 2-14
2011: 11-21 & 3-13
2012: 13-9 & 3-5

2010-2012: 35-50 & 8-32

Now that I've corrected them, they still suck arse.

With the damn strong roster he was given when he took over, he went 27-8 & 13-3.

That brings his totals to:

52-58 & 21-35

Look out, I missed the most recent game. So, I somehow left off one SEC win and 4 total losses. Not sure how that hurts my points, but you got to say I was wrong. Yay for arguing irrelevant points.

Which team are you talking about? The roster for TJ's best season by far was:

Thornton (Brady)
Tas (Brady)
Spencer (Brady)
Chris Johnson (Brady)
Garrett Temple (Brady)
Terry Martin (Brady)
Q Thornton (Brady)
Storm (Brady)
Farrer (Brady)
Graham
Bass
Dennis Harris

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.
