Which team are you talking about? The roster for TJ's best season by far was:

Thornton (Brady)
Tas (Brady)
Spencer (Brady)
Chris Johnson (Brady)
Garrett Temple (Brady)
Terry Martin (Brady)
Q Thornton (Brady)
Storm (Brady)
Farrer (Brady)
Graham
Bass
Dennis Harris

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

Nah, I meant the following year's team. The one you threw in with the record as trent's recruits. How many of Trent's guys had an impact on that team?

1. Look like the team is actually coached.

2. Look like we belong on the same court as teams like Kentucky. I'm not saying beat those teams, I'm saying look like we belong.

20-35 in the SEC

Two points:

1. We're currently at 21 wins over 3+ years
2. If we win just three more games this year, Trent will have a BETTER winning percentage than we've averaged since 1993.

It's grim, but it IS that bad.

People need to stop praying for the "John Brady scratch-off ticket" method of success and start praying that we can build a team that can compete in the West every year.

We can work on bigger goals after we've done that for a few years.

If 4 years into your program at LSU, you haven't reached the NIT for 3 straight years...that's grim.

I'm for the guy, but we need to get to the NIT this year. I don't think that's asking to much of a coach/program that's been building 4 years.

I agree, but for a team that has won 36% of it's SEC games over the last 18 years, I understand that building the team properly is going to take a long time.

I wouldn't be HAPPY being under .500 in the SEC this year, but if we finished 7-9 in the SEC, and 17-13 overall, with a good nucleus coming back, I think I'd ACCEPT it.

We've GOT to get past the "1 year with 12 SEC wins, surrounded by three years of less than 4" model. So if we have to go 2 and 3 the last two years, then 7 wins this year to get to 9-10-11 next year and forward, I'd be OKAY with that.

I want trent johnson to start signing top in-state talent (even though it has been lacking) and stop losing players like rico gathers! according to recruiting board he's headed to baylor. such a huge loss. I didn't expect him to head this way, but man I really wish he would have. Program changer IMO.

Not many. I don't know what point you're trying to make there. Trent's recruiting has been pretty bad thus far.

But you can't deny the fact that our program was shite when Brady was fired. We had players to put one good team together but because Brady could't sustain a program, TJ had to rebuild completely from scratch. At a school that is basically 3rd string to Football and Baseball, that takes time.

Dude, the same people saying this will turn around and tell me that "It's basketball. All it takes is one good year recruiting." Brady did not leave the cupboard bare and Brady is NOT responsible for Johnson's recruiting failures past Dennis Harris' class.

Pretty sure no one who knows anything about LSU and CBB will say that. The whole "It's basketball, it should take a year at most to turn it around" is a stupid argument. Plus those two statements are contradictory

Who is closing their eyes about THIS SEASON??? Your criticisms are largely based on the past 2 years. I have gone to all the games this year and see the improvement this team has made. That is why I am optimistic for this program right now.

So, you think this year's team is good? Don't tell me it's an improvement over dog shite. Seriously sit down and type "this is a good team." Otherwise, you are basing your perception on the last 2 years, also.

I do see improvement, but I also see the same players jacking up the same terrible shots without any notice from the coach. I see a team with two sub-5'10" guards that gets handled by the press. That comes down to poor coaching, whether it be not teaching them to beat the press or leaving the wrong personnel on the floor.

fwiw, the people who I've seen make that statement are the ones who wanted TJ fired in the middle of December, not the ones who say TJ can turn it around

Remove Collis' Baton Rouge players, and you're talking about Alex Farrer, Terry Martin, Garrett Green, Delwan Graham and Quintin Thornton.

CHAMPIONSHIP!

Collis saved Brady's arse once with Brandon Bass, Tyrus, Baby and Tasmin.

He couldn't do it twice, not even with ANOTHER NBAer in Anthony Randolph.

There wasn't a DAMNED thing here besides the Baton Rouge kids.

Without Collis' BR kids here, I don't know if we win 20% of our SEC games over the last twenty years.

I understand the "building" approach, but when is 3 conference wins part of the plan? I didn't expect to win the SEC in year 2 or 3, but this year's performance would be about what you SHOULD expect in year 2 or 3. Finally being mediocre in year four (that's a full term of player eligibility) is not some great success.

I hope they do win out. I hope TJ wins coach of the year and makes me eat crow. I really do. I love LSU basketball, that's why I am so sick of this. We win one damn game and someone has to make a post declaring himself the better fan. How about we get to two straight conference wins before we start proclaiming anyone not sold as fair weather fans?

Dude, just stop. It's over. Stop. Brady is gone and left Trent Johnson the most talented TEAM he's ever coached. Screw how they got here. Forget who their mom babysat. It's totally irrelevant to the current predicament.

So, if no one from LSU shook a coaches hand (outside of Baton Rouge) for twenty years, it has no impact on today?

The hits keep on coming.

Collis' NBA kids put band-aids on a bad, bad situation. There was NO program since Shaq left. Period.

It's not a one, two, three year fix. Sorry.

The fact that LSU is the worst team in the SEC over such a long stretch WITH as much (more?) NBA talent as Kentucky and Florida over the last two decades should be a really big eye opener as to the REAL state of the program.
