Wtf? Who were these players who were coming in? Please. I'd love to hear revisionist history. J'mison Morgan? Brandon the starting qb for arky Mitchell? Please say the point guard for OU several years ago. He decommitted before Brady left.
Explain this to me: we signed no one in 2006. Not one recruit. This was the year removed from the final four.
Ive already proclaimed I could construct a competitive NBA starting five with the recruits Brady missed from Louisiana. That's what I want because I know it will lead to a consistent winner. I want Trent to land the gathers, martins, and victors of LA. He's currently 0-1. Brady was 4-15.

The nba screwed up the college game, and you can't BUILD a program like in those days
bullshite.
Florida has built a program. State has built a program. Kentucky HAD a program before they brought in Calipari and his one and dones. Florida has done it with a little more NBA talent than State, but you know what to expect from both of those teams, year in and year out.
There are PLENTY of actual programs in the NCAA. In fact, I think lots of teams are learning to get away from the one and dones.
I think A&M and Missouri are both "program" schools.

TJ not signing one legit kid in his first two years here is the reason we are praying to get in the NIT
brady went to final four in 06....do me a favor and name all the big name recruits we signed as a result that spring signing period....
he had plenty to build on! hell we were fresh off of a final four run and had 2 spots to fill!

So much for that, committed to Baylor today. Citing he wants to win a championship, which he knows he's likely never to do that at LSU under TJ.
Look, I've wanted TJ to succeed, as would any LSU fan, but the guy just hasn't produced after his first year. Gets a pass or whatever for his 2nd year, but we underachieved his 3rd year and are once again underachieving this year, on the court and in recruiting. To even think about keeping his job he NEEDS to go 8-8 in the SEC or better. 7-9 or worse should be grounds for firing.

Recruiting wise I agree. But on the court this is almost exactly where most people thought we would be. The script has played pretty much on point thus far as far as expectations go.

Anthony Randolph and Marcus Thornton.

Not gonna say it's not a huge loss (which btw isn't official until he signs, how many times have we seen a kid commit one way and sign elsewhere), but it's a bigger loss from a PR perspective even though he's a good player. We still have Morgan who fills our biggest need imo (that being a guard above 6'0 who can score). Plus we have offers out on suitable replacements for Gathers at PF.

who is tj's 0-1? that could play in the nba. he missed gallaway who is leading the conference in scoring and is second in the country shooting the three. According to TJ he didn't think he was good enough. I am pretty sure we signed anthony randolph and marcus one year after the final four, two pros. And I'll be damn one of them was from texas, not baton rouge. there were two kids who signed with OU after brady left. I am not sure where you are getting brady's stat's. For the record TJ is now 0-2 Gathers just verbally commited to Baylor

Disagree, many folks were talking tournament and we're a very long shot at this point for that. That's where we should be this year and at this time we simply aren't.
We can't be losing to the Coastal Carolina's and Northwestern's of the world.

Where'd you hear this and what made you believe them?

CCU I agree with, but Northwestern? In our 2nd game away from the PMAC? By 6? C'mon man, you act like we played Northwestern State or something. At least use the other bad loss we have in USA.

I don't know why people play dumb about this one, MOST of this board pre-season was thinking tournament. After all, he SHOULD be getting us to one by now.

Damn, still forgot about the USA loss which is the most pathetic. But yes, Northwestern. NEUTRAL site game, not away. Northwestern is not a school we should lose to. I specifically remember getting reamed for saying the Northwestern game was not one we should have lost yet Northwestern sits at 10th in the Big Ten now? We can't beat a bottom of the barrel Big Ten team 4 years into TJ's tenure? We can't drop games like these if we're not going to be beating the better teams in our own conference.

pretty sure I'd remember being at the game if we played NU here.
And besides, NU then was a very different team than NU now (same can be said for LSU). Persa lit us up that game, they are a senior ridden team and you'd be foolish to think that seniority didn't have something to do with it as Hickey and O'bryant were both playing their 3rd college games... EVER.

Brady left the cupboard EXTREMELY thin when he was fired. Yes. We had Tasmin, MT, Garrett Temple, etc. That's it. They were all upperclassmen. We had two solid underclassmen: Storm Warren and Bo Spencer. That's it. Our program was in a mess, and it was going to take a minimum of two years to get out of the mess Brady left behind
Every coach should wish for their cup board to be this bare for one year
Marcus thornton pro
chris johnson pro
garrett temple pro
tasmin mitchell pro overseas
second year
taz pro over seas
bo spencer
storm warren
garret green
let's clarify bare

You are right, there were a number of people saying we were a tourney team. They also had a slew of apologists claiming Northwestern was indeed a tournament team (not NIT).
Posted on 2/6/12 at 10:31 pm to jr33
So you're telling me that by TJ's 2nd year he had Tas and Storm and that's pretty much it? You trying to tell me that Bo Spencer and Garrett Green were quality players on that team (or ever for that matter). Yea what was I thinking TJ was loaded after year one.
Posted on 2/6/12 at 10:40 pm to Tigerfan7218
how bout sign a couple of kids to help, he saw who was leaving and he signs eddie ludwig and chris bass. spencer had his moments and green would have been a pretty good player had it not been for his back, along with alex farrer. decent enough players to win more than 2 games in the league. Your telling me the previous coach is still totally responsible for the new guy in his second year, give me a break. How bout this bring in the kids you recruited to go to Stanford to play or bring in some kids you had a relationship out west. I guess the third year was brady's fault to.
Posted on 2/6/12 at 10:43 pm to jr33
Where did I say that, holy frick you just assumed and implied a whole lot. I simply said that our roster was not as well off as some in this thread are making it out to be.
And Greene was not a good ball player, period. Bo had his moments, but for the most part was selfish and stupid.
