South Carolina will get 3 because ESPN is on their balls.

Be at least a little realistic. South Carolina is the 2-time defending national champion, and won what was one of the hardest, if not the hardest, regional. Credit where credit is due.

But even so, USC still didn't get a primetime game last weekend. They played at 3pm each day.

I would guess that those regionals that are set would be on Friday - Sunday and those that aren't would be Saturday - Monday but wtf do I know. I realize it may not work out that way, just thinking of resting pitchers, etc.

This makes sense in a short term sense. What I don't understand, and why I can't seem to have this explained, is this:

When they set the top 8 seeds, there is a "ideal" bracket for the CWS set. Those 8 seeds are put into 2 brackets: 1,4,5 & 8 in Bracket I, and 2,3,6 & 7 in Bracket II. Those brackets play on either Fri/Sun or Sat/Mon. The Fri games are played by teams that start a SR on Friday; similarly, the Sat games are played by teams that start on Sat.

The question is, which group plays on Friday, and which one on Saturday? Does it change? What does that depend on? In other words, I have trouble believing that this isn't decided already, meaning we should know already what DAY (not time, not opponent) the super regional is.

I am likely incorrect in some of my assumptions, but this is my recollection of the way it is done since the SR setup came into existence.

Last year, the 2,3,6,7 started Friday. Who knows what they will do this year.

My prediction...

#1 - Friday 11am, Saturday 11am, Sunday noon (USC vs. Oklahoma/App. St.)
#2 - Friday 2pm, Saturday 2pm, Sunday 3pm (LSU vs. UCF/Stony
#3 - Friday 6pm, Saturday 5pm, Sunday 6pm (FSU vs. Stanford)
#4 - Friday 8pm, Saturday 8pm, Sunday 9pm (UCLA vs. TCU/Ole Miss)
#5 - Saturday 1pm, Sunday 12pm, Monday 12pm (Arkansas vs. Baylor/Dallas)
#6 - Saturday 4pm, Sunday 3pm, Monday 3pm (Arizona vs. St. John)
#7 - Saturday 7pm, Sunday 6pm, Monday 6pm (Florida vs. NC St./Vandy)
#8 - Saturday 10pm, Sunday 9pm, Monday 6pm (Oregon vs. Kent St.)

Does not work that way.

Looking at the bracket. The 1,4,5,8 seeds and the 2,3,6,7 seeds are on opposite sides.

Those super regionals are played on the same days. To make the "off" days the same for the opening round in the CWS.

So the only cases you have are:
Fri-Sat-Sun: 1,4,5,8
Sat-Sun-Mon: 2,3,6,7
or
Fri-Sat-Sun: 2,3,6,7
Sat-Sun-Mon: 1,4,5,8

It's TV making the decision.

To put in football terms it is like CBS waiting till Monday to determine what game to show on Saturday at 2:30. Sure they already know that team A is playing team B and team C is playing team D. But TV wants to wait until Monday to see if team A wins the week before b/c that will set up a better game.

Only in this case TV is waiting to see who the teams actually are instead of what the ranking is.

If they do it like they've done in the past, one half of the bracket will play Friday and other half Saturday. This then carries over to the CWS.

Which is why I think we may start on Saturday. Our side of the bracket has 2 West Coast hosts (UCLA, Arizona) as opposed to just one (Oregon) on the other side.

I'm thinking Fla St.-Stanford gets either 3 or 7.

I don't know what they are going to end up doing, but they don't have the ability to "cherry pick" and stagger Supers as others have said. As we realize, one side will start on Friday and the other side on Saturday.

We probably will get site 3 or 7. I would like to get site 4, but I know that is not likely.
