Was he in the doghouse before?
Did he have a better week in practice?
Was it a match-up thing that made bringing him in make more sense?
Was it our renewed commitment to the run after Florida shut us down?

our coaches just got creative with the run

but i'm guessing we weren't effective running with scott. then we tried murph, and he was OK. so then they went to KW to see if he could add a spark. he did OK. THEN they got creative with the plays called

KW promised not to assume the fetal position on first contact.

KW stopped running like a yeast-infected vagina.

He will be better then scott, when it's all said and done.

I think he is extremely overrated. We've been waiting for KW to become the breakout back that he supposed to be, but all we get now is a Post Freshmen year Justin Vincent performance. He's too hesitant with the ball, does not use his "break away" speed. I am not impressed with him, and I think he will fade to 3rd string back. Charles Scott and "Crazy Legs" Murphy will rank above him on the roster.

you mean just this year, right?

he ran wild on VT last year and saved us in the AU game last year

i like the potential murphy has, but what has he ever done in a real game to get this praise?

I think it is all about how the hole in the line develops. KW hits the hole quickly and has nice spin moves.Charles scott lets the play develop and has better power running through the hole. SC has a great defense and closed the holes up very quickly. This is why I think KW was great and CS did great running from the fullback spot.

I'm not giving Murphy glorification, I just think he could be a better back. As far as KW, I have yet to be impressed with anything he has done. I just think that he has not lived up to the hype and so far, does not look like he ever will.

Other than his legendary spring game and practice performances, what the hell makes people crave seeing Murphy get more touches? He looks to get to the sideline every time I've seen him in a game so far. He looked explosive on that run vs. tOSU in the NC game, but that's it.

I really don't understand where you're coming from. Why do we hold this kid to a standard set before he set foot on campus? He's not a bruiser like Scott, maybe not as shifty as Murphy, but KW brings alot to the table. In his career, he was the starting TB for our Sugar Bowl run, made big plays against VTech, Auburn, and Florida last year on our title run. This year, he's been working hard on special teams (in spite of not getting on the field as much as he used to), threw a TD on a running play being set up since last year, and he was our best back in an SEC road game where we were down in the second half.

So he's not the heisman contender you thought he was going to be. But what gave you the impression he was going to be? Because some magazine, website, friend of a friend told you? Maybe he isn't underperforming, maybe you need to come to grips with his role on the team.

Here are the facts for SEC play this year (from NCAA Website) :
Scott - 79 plays, 392 yards, 4.962 yards per touch

Williams - 30 plays, 145 yards, 4.833 yards per touch

Murphy - 18 plays, 64 yards, 3.55 yards per touch.

Based on this, Scott and Williams are roughly equal. I said it on a previous post and I'll say it again; I think that Williams will get more PT as the coaching staff gets more comfortable with our young QB's as he can be used in a more flexible manner than Scott. Murphy is the clear #3 in terms of performance.

I would MUCH rather have our RB combination than any other 1-2 combo in the league including Moreno / King, Coffee / Ingram.

in all honesty, it was the entire series or 2 in a row that he got as the only RB we used really

this allowed him to get in a rhythm

then we used the super I, and we just owned them

You haven't been impressed with anything he's done?
Ever? Or do you mean this year?
Because he has made a few spectacular plays last couple of years.

I'm talking this year. All i'm saying is that too me, I am not impressed. When I watch the games it looks like he is running on his heels. My main point is that I believe, in MY opinion, that Scott and Murphy are better backs....that's all

KW ran off tackle like a man for the first time.
Let us hope he continues.

Murphy does not impress me. I think Murphy makes some questionable decisions on cutting upfield. It seems like he tries to take everything outside.
