I wish him luck under Frank Wilson if he’s still on the roster. I believe E and O had option package for GL/ short yardage situations. Could’ve Been some big time situations. Also ponder on this.. we all know where Brady come from.. and what did that offense do with their backup who was big strong and athletic? Even with the goat Drew Brees starting QB. Man who knows what the staff could have drawn up. And what Sean Payton did with Tayson Hill was effective and will probably be emulated at some point n the league.

If I remember correctly it was Joe Brady that was the one that designed the Tayson Hill plays. I think I remember reading that in an article.

I liked McMillan and he really had improved leaps and bounds from his first few seasons on the team but I still don’t think he could have led that team to as many wins as Burrow did last year. He will do very well for Tulane but I just don’t think he would have been able to put LSU in the championship picture like Burrow.

LSU's season would have been a disaster if McMillan would have been the starting quarterback. O would likely be on the hot seat.

I’m pretty sure that was narrative born on the rant. Don’t be naive and think that the same issues that occur in the real world don’t carry over to the locker room. I know everyone wants to believe that their favorite team is just one big happy family all the time but that’s just not realistic.

How could you have forgotten about all the atta boys that narcisse what getting in practice. Everyone thought sure he was the front runner
and not a word about Brennan even being in the mix. But some here think he’s the answer for us next year.

Agreed. Burrow came in with barely any practice in an offense he was unfamiliar with, putting up mediocre numbers (at best) and Brennan couldn’t beat him out.

You mean two seasons later? I'm not sure why you think that's preposterous.

Here you go genius. Laugh at this.

This is a very long article the quote below comes from about half way down the page. It is posted and talked about elsewhere as well.

"Soon, Brady was with the Saints, helping work with Drew Brees. Staffers said he had a large role in the options and versatility of Taysom Hill, and one coach said he was in charge of catching Teddy Bridgewater up when the Saints traded for him in August.

“Joe brought a ton of information for us,” Saints coach Sean Payton said. “Did a great job. He was involved in a lot of the breakdown of opponents. A lot of the drawings. He had coached in college. He was every familiar with some of the RPO game. Added a lot to our staff.”"

How 'rising star' Joe Brady shot up the coaching ranks to LSU in 6 years

This is an article that members of 24/7 can read. I am not a member but it apparently says something about Brady and Hill also going by the responses.

"I wonder who on our roster is going to play the Taysom Hill role."

"The key point is not Hill the player but that aspect of offense. The RPO/Read Option is something he brought from Penn State but no way you do that with Drew Brees. But Joe Burrow.........."

You can’t fake the toughness and grit that Joe has. He’s a hockey grinder trapped in a football uniform. That’s about the highest compliment I could pay a guy in life. It wouldn’t matter if it’s a football team, a marine platoon , whatever- this is a man other men will follow.

So why don’t you post something to show that he designed all of the Taysom Hill plays. Seems like from that Payton quote all he did was what lowly GA’s do: break down opponent film and include some observations in their breakdown.

It depends on the OC and the skill set they are wanting. Canada according to some, wanted Brennan playing as a FR and he may have been a better fit for Canada's offense. SE wanted more mobility and Brennan did not look great in the spring. Brady's RPO/spread type offense likely resembles more of what Brennan was playing in HS. If you watch his HS tape he played in a shotgun/spread, quick hitting style of offense.

Watch his HS film and their O. His JR and SR season he threw for 101 TDs vs 11 INTs. From his sophomore-SR season he averaged 5000yds a season. He's made for this offense.

I wonder who would overrule the offensive coordinator in such a situation?

Anyone with a brain that could see that a 170-lb freshman didn’t have a prayer in the SEC.

I don’t remember Narcisse being the front runner ever. He always seemed to get the least amount of reps when practice stats were given out. And Brennan had already beaten both Narcisse and JMac out for the backup job in 2017. Maybe he wasn’t ready last year, but it’s not crazy to think that he’ll be good to go as our QB in 2020.

Good quarterback, but was not a leader. Member when he would just go and sit by himself? Burrow is a true leader and warrior by example.

The coaches wanted Narcisse to stay last year because they had a wildcat package for him. He was no threat to ever become QB1. Brennan has a good arm, he just needed to bulk up for the rigors of SEC play. He’ll be ready next year and I’m sure he’ll get plenty of mop up duty this year.
