I don't know what that adds up to, but I don't call it a RB...I call a RB Bo, HW and DMAC...IMO
ok. so he's a specialist. why would you not include him in lsu's backfield? he runs the ball.

based on what?

I responded using the posters words, but substituting USC for LSU to make that exact point about LSU. It was his opinion.

obviously there are a lot of factors going on here but, what is your source?

Uh, the # of long runs, long punt returns and the Rose Bowl performance in case you missed it.

I guess I'll call Peyton Hillis a wide receiver...

he was the starter!!

Moreno started the year as UGA's 3rd string back. He only started 6 games last year. Thomas Brown was the starter most of the year and had 816 yards on 148 carries with 10 TDs. UGA is stacked at RB with Moreno (Proven), King (you'll see), and 3 4/5 star Freshman vying for the 3rd spot.

i wouldnt call it STACKED when you are talking about 3-4 guys that are unproven. hey guess what, we have recruits coming in too, but the good thing about it is we dont have to depend on them until 2-3 years down the road. that just shows our depth and your lack of.

so you've compared the number of long runs between the two players? and is that going to be the only criteria? my point is, the two are both dynamic, game-breaking players. both bring something significant to the table.

in the end, debating lsu and usc is splitting hairs. both have incredible talent and depth at the running back position.

i don't think anybody doubts this but, lsu's backs have all actually seen the field and contributed significantly except for ridley. uga's haven't.

1)Moreno will break down. He is too light in hte arse to run as hard as he does. See: Cadallac Williams.

2)Demarco Murray is legit. He dislocated ONE kneecap last year. He could have played in the Fiesta Bowl but opted for surgery.

dude had 15 TDs a FR...you cant tell me that isnt special.

The defenses they play arent that bad. What top notch defenses did LSU play last year? Not many. Not much difference.

i agree with everyone who posted early...Clemson

Seriously, we have Jamie Harper in for 3rd downs and he has bulked up to 230 already. They are already saying he will get 5-6 carries a game. We are deadly in the backfield this year

but that's still not BETTER than lsu. at most, it's equal.

if you go down the depth chart, lsu can match clemson person for person and still have at least one really, really good back left over that clemson doesn't have.

Are we talking backfield as in QB and RB, or backfield as in our RBs?

Hands down, LSU would win if we were strictly debating RBs:

Williams, Scott, Murphy could probably vie for starting position anywhere.

Yeah when I think backfield I'm not including the qb. Not in this thread anyways. I think when you talk about the best you have to consider depth in the equation for sure. Lsu has 5 quality rb's with all of them capable of doing something good. Speed, strength, moves, and power are a winning combination imo. Clemson is going to be good with their duo, but they always seem to fizzle out. Georgia is going to be good too, but moreno could have a sophomore slump ala justim vincent. And usc always has 5 star talent, but where was mcknight when usc was getting beat by stanford? Tangerine, you can take that one ;)

I'll tell you where he wasn't: Under center playing QB with a broken finger. McKnight didn't throw 3 picks and a pick 6.

Very lame argument.
