re: Jai Eugene's ability

correct. the higher you are on the list doesn't mean you have the best potential, it means you are the best fit for college football NOW ahead of other rated behind you. He reminds me of Justin Miller that plays for the Jets and he was a pure shutdown corner @ Clemson...except Justin was corner #20 coming out of high school. Now he is a 2 yr starter for the NY Jets and an impact player

agreed, fast does not equal big AND fast. This guy has NFL corner size at age 18...I mean seriously, you should pay 9.95 for one month of rivals and look at the CLEAR difference in film. PP is that good

gr8 video man, those CFL analysts are worthless..."I have no interest in talking to Billy about the Sooners or ANY other team!"

"You can contact me when the season is over"

I hope this sh*t makes it on the air lol

23 points? I am with the other guys...13-17 I can handle, but an extra TD without a QB? I just don't see it happening. Of course I'm rooting for the underdog but my personal guess is LSU wins 35-21.

get your head out your arse and enjoy the spirit of competition...keep your confidence and stop giving a rat's arse about how they think the outcome of the game will be. It's JUST A GAME man!!!!

I'm gona have on a App St jersey with a Clemson hat so hopefully tiger fans won't give me too much hell. 20 days and counting until kickoff hell yea!

30dB? Tiger Stadium doesn't do 30dB. If you go to Tiger Stadium on a Sunday after a game there will be more than 30dB from the echoes of the night before.

did you not read the comma and the 3 zeros after 30?

Yea I am not trying to diss App St but lightning usually doesn't strike twice in the same place. @ the same time, i am obligated not to say "app st will lose." they are "supposed" to lose and i will agree with that.

i figured it will be crunk on opening day regardless, but compare the opening game 2 yrs ago against Louisiana-Lafayette vs Auburn or FLA last year. The VT game doesn't count b/c yall were the only game on TV on a Thursday. I just wana know the difference. Things change quickly even though its 80,000+ a week here in Clemson...especially in regards to the caliber of the opponent
LOL that was a nice comeback...but you opened the door when you had "South Carolina Fan" written under your profile name. There's not much I can say about LSU other than Clemson is preseason ranked above them, which really doesn't mean anything considering we BLEW a chance at the BCS last year and yall got a NC. So i guess i'll just end the trash talk right here(Clemson still owns USC)
reminder: ANYTHING can happen.

memo to everyone else that enjoys hearing things we already know: LSU isn't Michigan

i've been to knoxville when they've played florida, and it was the most intense atmosphere for a stadium i have witnessed. i know fans will be amped for opening day but this is not your 1st SEC matchup of the year, its App St. Will Tiger stadium hold to its #1 ranking of toughest places to play on Aug 30 or will it seriously just be an "average"(30,000 dB) game there? if not, the heat is gona make me walk to a bar lol. Either way, it should be an entertaining experience
as a fan of the gamecocks, you do not belong anywhere near this website. i despise your kind
i agree with everyone who posted early...Clemson

Seriously, we have Jamie Harper in for 3rd downs and he has bulked up to 230 already. They are already saying he will get 5-6 carries a game. We are deadly in the backfield this year
quote:

if he is to have success against lsu d he will have to spread us north and south with the pass

Success agaist this speedy defense will be 200yds in the air and 50 on the ground. It will take alot then App "trying" to pass north-south on a team who has more speed. It will take a couple of turnovers and some good field position from kickoff returns
quote:

SEC or ACC maybe, but any other conference I completely disagree. Besides the fact that we have less scholarships which would make it unfair to begin with.

The OR is right...App would have a winning record if they played in the ACC. Clemson plays two D1-AA opponents(guarantee wins) and on top of that we have a Duke game. That means App would only have to pull off 3 more wins to get to a bowl. I think the SEC is the only conference they couldn't play in. And to all you jackasses, Pat White isn't even 200 lbs. Armanti is sitting at 190-195 lbs(yes he gained 15 lbs over the summer) with the equal agility and speed of Mr. White. That should say enough about his ability to run the offense of a good football team. Especially since both of them were considered "athletes" coming out of high school
quote:

Tyson Jackson could end up a 1st rounder, but he isn't rated that way now, im sure you guys all had early Doucet as a 1st rounder before last season too. Sometimes it just doesn't work out that way.

That guy should have big time NFL player written on his forehead by the end of the season
quote:

You boys need to focus on your SEC schedule and quit worrying about App

You don't have room to throw this comment in here unless you see LSU fans REGISTER on an App sports site. In this case the pot is calling the kettle black
quote:

Thank you, that is what I was trying to get across. And hey, I agree with you about AE. I definitely believe that he will break containment, especially due to some over-pursuits. We just need to stay disciplined and try to contain him. He will get his share of yards. We need to stop the HR.

There won't be any HRs unless Armanti can throw a 50 yd bomb to my 6-5 brother, b/c it damn sure won't happen with one of the running backs. No one is getting BEHIND that defense, even if its the 1st game and they have a few miscues. In my eyes a HR will be a 15 yd qb scramble on a defense like this
quote:

Here's the point: Alexander and Francois would have started last year. One was hurt, one was suspended. Therefore we played the season with 2 2nd string linemen. Now those 2nd string linemen have valuable experience. Plus, our 2 starters are back. I know we lost Dorsey, but in spite of that we SHOULD be better this year on the DL.

Your D-Line WILL be better b/c you have so many playmakers in the rotation. BUT, Armanti can beat your guys out the pocket with his legs 90% of the time. What sucks for him is that you guys have the best D-line in the best conference
Philly,

sorry i couldn't back you up earlier lol. Brian said that they woke up at 6am yesterday and ran 110 yds 26 times. These boys are trying to get RIGHT for the season opener. Also i made a booboo earlier...Brian runs a 4.45 not a 4.42 As much credit as I wana give him i have to keep it real 1st and foremost. Also, they don't start two-a-days for a month. Are you coming down for the game?
quote:

Philly,

I'm skeptical of whether USC can really replace Sedrick Ellis and their great DE without some dropoff.

I'm skeptical of whether LSU's stable of talent can plug in CBs this year without a dropoff.

If I can be skeptical of top recruiting programs like that to plug in talented guys without noticing a change, I think it's reasonable for me to think ASU might have issues too.

Nothing personal - it's one thing to have talent, another thing to have proven guys. At any level.

Makes sense to me...here's where a USC fan should school us in on who's filling in for Ellis. You guys should school us on Patrick Johnson, Jai Eugene, & Chris Hawkins.

In the meantime, we will school you on Devon Moore, Brian Quick, CoCo Hillary, & Cortez Gilbert. I'm not sure you really want to inquire on these players(who should ALL make a huge impact for App in the Fall), but you are definitely using your common sense on predicting ASU can't plug in new guys without a change...I just think the change will be on the upside
