Losing to Miami of Ohio a week after upsetting a top 10 ranked A&M teams is much worse than UAB.

2006 AU was by far one of the most frustrating games I've ever witnessed. It was so obvious how much of a better team we were than AU, but the offensive gameplan was just terrible. I get pissed even thinking about it.

I was there and it was BAD.

I'd say Ole Miss 2009 - don't think I've ever gotten that worked up over LSU football in my life.
I'll give that one a pass, in that it sure seemed that we were gonna lose the whole damn game- McCluster (?) killed us that day. While the last minute hurt, that game was really just a failed rally on the road against a decent SEC team, and thus objectively not the most inexcusable ever to me.

I sat through the Miami of Ohio game, and that was just mind-numbing. We should have killed them.

82, Tulane- another disgusting loss. That really sucked, because it was the stereotypical "greedy" loss- we kept throwing deep incompletions instead of hammering them with Hilliard and James, and they hung around. Gotta win the game first, go for the blowout second.

Loss at Ohio St- if I recall correctly, we took an intentional safety late in the game to make our lead LESS than a TD, and then they drove to win. I think I broke my TV that day.

I agree with most that have already been mentioned:

My #1 inexcusable = toss-up AU 94/Tulane 82

Bama 98...ripped my heart out. I was so dejected walking out of the stadium!

One I have not seen mentioned is Florida 89.
When Archer whent for the tie with a late field goal I think everyone knew Fla would win the game. Maybe not inexcusable (e.g Emmit Smith) but LSU had a shot to win that game and played not to lose...and lost!

The most inexcusable had to be the 2 losses in 1982 under Stovall's tenure. I dont care how much a trap game , no way in hell should we have lost to John Bond and MSU. Couldnt believe th e crap that was yelled at me leaving Starkvegas. and then the Tulane debacle when Vince Gibson basically told the Tulane players to look nonchalant during pre-game drills and then the whole darn game in the drizzling rain Tulane nothing but nickle and dimeing us to death and to top it all off my high school class mate Tyrone Smith intercepts Risher's last gasp pass. Makes me sick to even rethink of those two losses.

Besides every loss the '98 season...

I know it's not our worst loss ever, but Drew Tate can still suck my butt. The '05 CapOne Bowl still chaps my arse.

Really enjoy this thread

I noticed many people asking who UAB beat that year, other than LSU. Well, there other six wins were: Chattanooga, ULL, Memphis, Middle Tenn, @ECU and @Army. There four losses were: @Kansas, Louisville, @Cincy and OT loss to USM. Just for the record.

I would say Houston 1999 but it was no shock because of how poorly coached that team was.

Everyone is talking about SEC games that are inexcusable...those don't even compare to losing to University of Alabama in Birmingham

That's true, SEC Schools have comparable talent.

UAB has had 9 NFL draft picks in thier entire school history.

LSU had 9 NFL Draft picks playing in that 1 game.

Too bad the previous coach couldn't stick around and coach them. But, when you win 4 games in one season and then go on an 8 game losing streak the next year, big changes have to be made because things are in bad shape.

The talent Gerry recruited was nothing short of awesome. Good to see Hal Hunter coaching the team to utter dominance over SEC West Champs Arkansas, to end the '99 season.

UAB was pitiful. So much NFL talent put to waste & fans leaving ashamed..

Why that coach didn't pull Booty after his 4th INT..it smelled of Curley Hallman coaching.
