I would scratch Pappacitos and try something you haven’t had before…. My suggestion is “Irma’s”….. there’s 2 locations. Irma’s Original and Irma’s Southwest. Fresh squeezed lemonade… fresh mixed guacamole and the best quality Mexican food you can eat. Hands down the best. And this is coming from a guy that loves Pappacitos too!

There are lots of threads on the FDB that discuss Houston dining. Offshoreangler is very knowledgeable of the scene.

I can only speak to BBQ and tell you the following are top shelf:

Roegels
Truth
Pinkerton's
Killens (in Pearland)
Corkscrew (in old town Spring)
The Pit Room
Brett's (Katy)

And there are several others that can be added. Check days and times since some only do lunch.

I wouldn't go anywhere that's close to NRG. Drive to EaDo or downtown and park then take the train to NRG.
