It's directed at our own dugout. Major leaguers even do this among their teammates.
Cocky would be bat flipping (Foster has) but that would be the extent from what I've seen all year and even that was no big deal
You have to understand an inside celebration among teammates and the excitement behind it and then the difference from that and cockiness. Almost every team has a celebration after a double or more towards their guys. After Bregman turned the double play you could read his lips, "let's go!"
That's more of the mentality behind the celebrations you see. Not exactly showing off like you take it to be.
This team has so many selfless players and guys who pretty much pray on the mound. They are confident and they are having a great time. Let them.

Who the frick are you to set standards for the program and how they can celebrate? You aren't on the field, doubling in the winning runs. It's a celebration they came up with as a team. I don't see how celebrating with your team is being cocky in any way.

People who haven't played organized sports are the ones complaining about something like this. If you have ever played, you should understand these things on a team.

They are teenagers trying to have fun.
They aren't soldiers.
Can you understand a little better now ?

Baseball on the whole is losing fans and participants because of the old school unwritten rule mentality. This is not your father's game where you are not allowed to celebrate. It should be fun.
And yes.....if I were an opposing fan, i'd be pissed watching this. If you don't like it, do something to stop it.

I wouldn't do it, I've seen worse, they're having fun, not that big of a deal, this is a great team to come back down 5/2 against AM. GO TIGERS!

A couple of years ago a Texas? teams players were doing a deer antler thingy. One hand for a single and two for doubles and above. It's an inner team motivational thing.. You see in the link that they are looking back at their own dugout when doing it. Now if after a home run they did it facing the opponents dugout That would be an old school justly deserved ear hole bean ball infraction

Softball team has a celebratory gesture too.

How in the hell is that "cocky"?!
This isn't baseball from 1957, paw paw.

In recent years the NFL has been mocked as the No Fun League. As in almost nothing is allowed. As noted, these are college kids having some fun. Do you remember how cool, calm & collected you were at that age? CPM has been coaching college baseball for over 35 yrs, If he had any issues with it, he'd stop it in a heartbeat.

There's a difference between cockiness and celebrations.
(Although I do not know how it feels when JFF does this in a game against LSU)

Baseball teams always have something they do after an extra base hit. Even some MLB teams have something. However, the one we are using now needs to be shortened or just changed to something else. It's long as shite and gay as frick.

So an all pro NFL defensive end shouldn't do a dance when he sacks a top tier qb? You're dumb.
Football team had the "can't see me" motion. This is same thing. They are kids. Providing you entertainment doing something very few people can. Shush
