Our QB throws into double coverage much more effectively than McCarron.

Agreed. I think the likely gameplan is to keep our offense out there as long as possible, run the ball, and get the game to the 4th quarter. I'd like to see us run our offense, take shots, and go down the field though and not be too vanilla.

If we can keep it close into the 4th, that's where we really open it up. Best defense in this game is our good offense. That said, I think we'll have to score at least 30 or so to win.

I'm guessing Bama loads up the box to stop the run. If we insist on running against 8-9 man fronts were gonna lose because we'll punt a lot.

I think our best shot is to throw intermediate passes when we see this to keep them honest then run when they go back to 7 man fronts. Well need to throw some on first down.

Worst thing that happened for our chances is that Sunseri went down. See last year where Mett basically just found him and threw at him all game.

Sunseri gave up only 1 or 2 passes against LSU last year.

His loss did not make our defense better.

Whatever you say on both accounts Funky Tide.

Torched Multiple Times

Also, re-watch the game to confirm it for yourself.

on offense, pretty much a wash but if I was Lester/Cam I would come out in a four-wide spread and one-back read option the frick out of bama. film study what Sumlin did to them and what Briles is doing to everybody. five sets with two options per set is not impossible in two weeks but, of course, I think so far outside the box...the box looks round from where I stand. start Mett but if he has knee/or performance issues I would have Jennings prepared to start the next chapter in LSU football glory.

get rested, get better, get ready...get even.

All the article said was that he was torched multiple times

This was actually a hot topic of convesation after the game last year on the Bama board. The perception for some reason was that he got torched but magillaguerilla watched every play that Sunseri was in the game on and came to the conclusion that he really only gave up a couple of short passes.

I then rewatched the game and saw that he was right.

That article's reporting is poor. Thevictoryformation.com was it?

So I found a link calling your fans out for noting how terrible he was and how we dry humped him all over the field. You respond with lulz and Cf. Funky Tide. Sounds legit. Just admit it, the dude fricking sucked, and your defense got a ton better when he went down. Everyone knows it to be true.

Saban and open dates are overrated. Historically, his teams come out flat after bye weeks, going back to Michigan State.

One of the major keys to beating Bama is not having 3 and outs on offense. Saban's defensive philosophy is to put a lot of pressure on the first series and flip it over to get the opposing defense back on the field after 3 plays. Unless our offense creates first downs, our defense will wear down quickly. Our only chance is to sustain multiple drives that keep our defense off the field. If we have a 25/20 TOP advantage and NO TURNOVERS going into the 4th quarter, then anything can happen.
