JJ could impose X for every walk or hit batter and reward Y for every strike out or for every batter they DONT walk. Remember running laps or running the bleachers? Not sure about the rewards.

Everyone of these guys wants to throw the correct pitches. They just have the yips right now. Adding more pressure to them will do nothing but make it worse.

Pitching is all about confidence. These guys can all pitch strikes but they are so afraid of fricking up they automatically do just that. Yesterday was just a ridiculous. You don’t expect to have 7 different relievers each have their worst outing of the season. The chances of that happening like that again is very low.

He should give them treats and call them “good boy” when they have a clean inning

Winning is its own reward within the dynamics of the team for non-professional competitors

Cooper could be rewarded with Canes coupons. Ackenhausen with der Wienerschnitzel.

kinda seems like a logical solution would be to leave a guy in a little longer instead of pull him at the first sign of bad play. nothing takes away a pitchers confidence more than knowing if he makes a minor mistake he’s getting yanked

While would generally agree with this we had 4 of the relief pitchers give up multiple runs. Jay couldn’t have imagined that all 7 of his bullpen arms would shite the bed in such a big way. He had to make the move.

i really just mean in general over the course of the season, not one game in particular. he likes to make pitching changes early but when we have no depth or confidence in the bullpen, seems like he should ride guys out a little more

Gatorade is for closers. Throw balls and you get water…from the faucet.

This. If our pitchers have a mindset that offering a pizza party for strikes will get them to throw more strikes then there are severe culture issues and JJ needs to be fired immediately.

Walk batters, punishment is less playing time (unless you're Little).

Get outs, reward is more playing time.
