For making Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto Co-Defensive Coordinators. Why not get one Def Cord with SEC exp to guide the defense.

As previously posted here, there was a story that Miles tried to hire Muschamp and was close to making a deal & Muschamp decided to stay at Tx...I don't this this arrangement was Les' first choice.

Who here thinks Miles has the balls to fire/demote them after this season?

I dont, I think he sticks by them for at least another season possibly two.

Miles has the balls and will do what he thinks is the best option.

Miles is a loyal person. I just hope he isn't loyal to a fault.

How could Auburn, South Carolina, Miss St. all find experienced candidates and we couldn't?

Not true. But to answer the question, Miles is very loyal, even to the detriment of the team. He wanted to promote from within and reward his assistant coaches. How did he know that they were not ready for prime time.

bc clearly a opening at a school that just won a national title isn't good enough to pull in a real dc only those.

saying well we tried to get muschamp and we had to settle for this is just complete fricking shite. No way in hell was it homerun or nothing. Other dc's would have come here. that is just nonsense to think otherwise

I really want someone to give me a reason that only muschamp could be thrown around and when we can't get him we couldn't get anyone else. I find that extremely hard to believe that a dc would not leave his current school for LSU.

its not like our d was a bunch of no talents and like we didn't win a game last year.

maybe not with SEC exp. but Jon Tenuta was out there and Miles let ND take him. He shoudl have hired Tenuta.

the real reason is that miles salary got bumped up after the championship game and they didnt have enough money to hire a DC so the hire from within.

Miles will do what it takes to give his team the best chance to win. You guys need to be patient and let this season play out and I am pretty sure next year will be a different story.

Whatever the rationale, it was a foreseeably stupid decision.

It's patently clear that these inexperienced neophytes are entirely outmatched by most SEC staffs.

i call horse shite on that as well. LSU had money to go get a dc. lets not act like LSU is poor and can't afford to hire a coach.

Les took a gamble a very bad gamble and lost. peveto has shown 0 to warrant being promoted to dc.

This,
a) he should have known.
b) any smart manager will know to hire strong to his weaknesses, he hired weak to his weaknesses.
...and since D is his weakness, he can not come to their rescue.

He made a bad decision..that's all.
Now, let's hope that due to loyalty, another bad decision is not made to back this one.....
only time will tell.

With a big time program like LSU you have to hire a DC that is established. Like Texas did.
