Hart Bourque just recently passed. Prayers go out to his family.

The 1958 team is the first Tiger team I remember fairly well. My father was an LSU/ROTC instructor (1956-60) at the time and I spent a lot of time on campus and met many football players from the team during those years. Still have many Tiger greats autographs. That was the good old days when Staring Lane was still considered country.

Typo? Should that be Bourque?

Mr Hart was 140lbs soaking wet in 1958. Played DB on the Chinese Bandits team. Fast as hell and tough. Talked to him plenty of times about his experiences playing during that era of football. He was the first to tell you that he hit his window just right and would not have stepped on the field but for the unique rules and Coach PD coming up with the three specialized unit approach to the rules. Super guy and wore his NC ring proud everyday.

Hart Bourque-- I remember he used to have a Chinese restaurant on Nicholson (@ McClung) called "Hart Bourque's Chinese Bandit Cafe" (chop, chop).
Best Chinese restaurant within 20 miles of Tiger Stadium.

Rest In Peace
Man, after reading the Billy Cannon biography a couple years ago, I wish I had a time machine to see the 1958 team play, and to just see BR in general at the time. Seems like a whole other world.

Friends with his younger brother...another stand up guy that truly bleeds P&G and lettered at LSU on the baseball team. Thoughts and prayers to Conrad and the rest of the Bourgue family.
