He didnt take them from worst to first in era that year. But they were still damn good.

Wes Johnson is a stud. I hate that y’all have him, but in pure Arkansas fricking fashion, y’all get him. I was deflated when he left us for the Twins, but the salary bump was too much for him not to take it. He’s a damn fine pitching coach.
I’ll never forget him going to visit one of our pitchers on the mound that had troubles finding the strike zone. He went to the mound and said “There a problem?, to which our pitcher responded “No” Wes Johnson then said “Then throw strikes!” He walked right back to dugout. That was the shortest mound visit I’ve ever seen.
He’s a no bull shite cat. A seriously great pitching coach. frick us.
