One word you mick: Nick Saban.
Nick Saban what? NIck Saban had two head coaching jobs and went to LSU and started winning titles. Kiffin with 5 head coaching jobs and cant even win a conference title.

Well, like Kiffin possibly this year. But in the grand scheme of things the answer really is, who cares. You don’t need a precedent for this. Nick Saban said his coaching trajectory changed while at Michigan State when he learned how to evolve from a transactional coach to a transformational leader. Who knows what influences have caused Kiffin to mature. That USC job was 12 years ago now. That’s a long time and he’s done plenty since.
What do you mean he's done plenty since?....no confence titles...no playoff appearances....no coaching accolades....what has he done beside winning 10 games with a weak SOS?

It's borderline embarrassing that we're pining over Lane Kiffin. Somebody needs to slap some sense into our search committee.

Exactly right. Brian Kelly crushes Lane Kiffin in records and accolades as head coach but LSU fans want to pay soft arse Kiffin all kinds of money when he cant even win a conference title as head coach of Tennessee, USC and Ole Miss.....lmao. Its embarrassing and comical.

Are you an LSU fan? If not, what the frick are you babbling about? frick off man no one gives a shite about your Brian Kelly horseshite.

So you just want a circle jerk session of LSU fans agreeing on everything and no outside views and counterpoints?......ok.

You're on an LSU board shitting on LSUs coaching search and you're a fricking ND fan. You're shitting on SOS and you're a ND fan. Wtf do you care about what LSU does and why are you here other than to troll?

Have I done any trolling?....havent shite on LSU once.....not made fun of their team or university. Actually trying to help with my opinion that Glenn Schumann would be a homerun hire over soft arse Kiffin. Bringing up facts why Kiffin would be a bad hire and maybe have LSU pick a better hire is trolling?

Agreed...but we all put our opinions in dont we?

He's not an option, not on anyone's radar for P5 jobs.
Who is we? You're a fricking ND fan

Sounds good....stick with Kiffin and see if he wins as many titles as he did in his other 5 head coaching jobs.....lmao

Again, you're a ND fan. Why are you on an LSU message board?
Posted on 11/21/25 at 10:32 pm to IrishDave

And they kicked out arse this year,
That’s an exaggeration. It was a one-possession game that LSU easily could have won with just one lucky play.
And it was in Oxford

He’s going to have a playoff appearance on his resume in two weeks. He’ll also have an SEC title game appearance if things fall his way. Say what you want, but bro has matured. I did not like him up until about a year or two ago. He actually started backing up his talk. Give this guy our resources and it will be scary. Louisiana produces some studs on D. “DBU” ring any bells? Kiffin can get a D coordinator to handle the D. LSU with a commitment to NIL (which Kiffin will insist upon to come here) attracts much better talent than Ole Miss could ever get between the HS ranks and the portal. He’s also so much better with today’s players than Kelly could ever dream of in his wildest dreams. The only caveat is how he’s going to treat Whit if he returns for his senior year. After laying the pipe to his daughter I don’t know how he’s going to feel about him. ??????

Miles was so perplexing. His teams were tough as nails but he just wouldn’t evolve.
I’m derailing a coach thread but this right here. I’ll add that on offense Miles was so turnover averse especially after Jarrett Lee’s pick six campaign that his game plans were conservative and easy to prepare for. When Leonard Fournette was drafted, scouts charted that he ran into an eight man box more than any other, running back in that draft, and it wasn’t even close.
