You should look this up because JJ holds numerous top ten spots- %, ypg, wins, TD passes and others. Neither JJ or JL were as bad as the chicken little beraters like you imply.
The game is much more passer oriented and friendly now than 20 yrs ago.Jefferson has to be one of the worst passers in the history of LSU.I'm convinced,he was the most confused QB in LSU history.

First six games Lee 15 TD and 3 int
Last season Jefferson's first six games 2 TD and 9 int. One of his touchdowns was on a Lee 80 yard drive in which Miles pulled Lee and put in Jefferson on the opponents 4 yard line.
Jefferson was never benched as a junior or senior year as a starter even though Lee was better.
Lee was better his senior and junior years.
Jefferson was better his freshman and sophomore years.
That is plain and simple to see. But Miles 's favorite was Jefferson and that was the only reason he started.

quote:In all fairness, the last few games he started or played the majority of, were 50% vs the nationally ranked top 5 Ds, with 11-5-11 not too terrible considering.
"He started the last few games of the year returning a previously productive offense to its 2010 woes."
Outside of those 3 games, he was quite good with a 100% cr in one and 200+yds in another.
It would have been interesting if the starts would've been reversed, say if Shady's incident had happened during the bye week.
Would LSU have been 8-0 and finishing 14-0,
or 6-2, finishing 10-3, or.......?

1990: Chap Loup vs. Sol Graves -- TURRIBLE
1991: Chad Loup vs. Jesse Daigle vs. Brad Strohm -- LOB IT UP TO TODD KINCHEN
1992: 4-way race (Loup/Daigle/Howard/Huffman) -- CRAZY
1993: Chad Loup vs. Jamie Howard -- NOT GOOD, BUT PIGS FLEW
1994: Jamie Howard vs. Melvin Hill -- NIGHTMARE AT AUBURN
Great summary of terrible times in Tigerland. The only QB with any ability in this group was Jamie Howard.

That's no saying much. He shared time w/ Guidry and Wendell Davis made Hodson
Hope you are joking. TH was ALL-SEC four times and set SEC records for passing. If he is playing in 1/9/12 BCSNCG, we win by 20!

quote:Yep, '89-'94, a 6 year stretch <.500 no-bowl football, ........but the last 4 bowling, SEC winning, NC participating, years is the worst stretch some 'tards have ever seen.

Ain't no bandwaggoners in here, no sir.

Were the last 4 years the worst stretch of QB play in LSU history?
Not on LSU teams that were this good.
Do you realize we have gone 24-3 in 2 seasons with piss poor QB play?
And that is the real issue here. We have had worst QB play before, but when we did have problems they were among a whole lot more and it really cost us nothing. The reason this hurt everyone so bad is that it was our only true weakness and without it the outcomes would have been drastically different.

Haynes threw on a rollout, just over the tall Ole Miss defender, and Doug Moreau caught the ball with feet planted just in the end zone and leaning out over the side of the end zone. LSU 11--Ole Miss 10.
Sorry, but you have the wrong QB. It was Billy Ezell, not Haynes, who threw those passes to beat Ole Miss. I was a student at that game. It was a great comeback win, and that catch by Moreau was tremendous.
Wish there were some highlights for Haynes, and I'm sure he did have a big heart and gave it his best, but he was the least effective QB at LSU in my memory.

Why don't you just pull out LookAtMe's selective stats spreadsheets? They are a lot more entertaining. Any touting of his stats from 2009 without pointing out he took 37 sacks is disingenuous at best. His completion percentage was relatively high because he wouldn't ever pull the trigger unless someone was REALLY wide open. Mostly, he ducked and ran. I guess with boxcar down in Tampa at camp, you are the defacto TeamSwag defender?

If Tom Brady in his prime was playing we would not have won that game by 20!

All you do is spew negative bullshite without backup.
Both QBs were pretty much the same.
Underdeveloped QB #1

I didn't single out '09, just career.
And that's all you got? Sacks?
2009
S Garcia 37
J Harris 34
McCoy 30
Tebow 29
Bad company all around him.
quote:His legs got him out of many near sacks allowed by that O-line that couldn't pass block or run block for shite.
Mostly, he ducked and ran.
I will admit he didn't trust the pocket, though I hardly blame him with the center getting blown up every other play.
You haters make too big of a deal about it anyway. It was lack of run game that really hurt '09 offense.
quote:I only state the facts and it pisses off you 'tards that are all in a huff over Jefferson getting paid.
defacto TeamSwag defender?
Burns your arse he signed with the Bucs.

Yes, and that's the overwhelming thing. Imagine a competent QB! The possibilities are endless!

Wow, have you completely forgotten the early 90's?

I think the last 4 years were absolutely the worst QBing in LSU history. But not because the QBs were that bad, in truth Lee was preforming pretty damn well up until he got pulled at Bama. I think it's the worst QBing for this reason, if we had a QB with even 1/4 the talent of say... Luck, we'd have at least 2 National Championships in that stretch. With the defenses and tailbacks and WRs we had, I doubt any team would have been able to touch us. It just goes to show you how important QBs are to the success of a team.
