Seriously...if you're going to be a fan of baseball, you have to live with the fortunes and mis-fortunes. The good thing is that the season is marathon and not a sprint. This early, panic is not necessary but adjustments are. And timely hitting is the key for this team. The pitching is great, we all knew that going in but as Skip use to say, timely hitting is vital. It's early Tiger Fans...

You could have found a thread from last year after the Florida series that said the exact same thing.

In other words, nothing has improved in hitting.

No that's bad baseball. Absolutely no excuse for not scoring in the 9th or 10th. When you dont score in the 9th with bases loaded and 1 out, you have to squeeze and score than run in the 10th. Im always positive but today was fricking pathetic.

We cant score more than fricking 3 runs a game against average opponents, dont be stupid. LSU's hitting is terrible and will not improve this year.

This isn't a one game or one series problem....this is a season long problem...they've already played, what, twenty two games?...half the season is almost over and there has been no improvement.

Agree totally. No excuse grounding into two double plays with lead run on third. Plus throughout the game our best hitters can't get hits with runners in scoring position. Mason and Raph at least twice had runners on second and third with 1 out and neither can get a hit.

As I said in another post...

LSU HR total on year = 10

Florida HR total on year = 37

IMO this speaks volumes. Other top SEC teams still have the hitters...LSU doesn't. It can be done, but whether it be coaching or lack of talent...LSU isn't where it use to be. Claiming it can't be done anymore is false IMO as shown by Florida's ability to hit. I love LSU baseball but this year doesn't look promising.

Will somebody please tell me why we didn't squeeze the runner home with the bases loaded and 1 out in the 9th? We have no hitting and the squeeze was absolutely the right call especially with the infield at double play depth. WTF, Paul?!?

I'm so sick of hearing "That's baseball guys!" after a loss. That works when a team catches some bad breaks and losses a game, or gets shut down. It doesn't happen on a consistent basis, and LSUs road performances have BEEN consistently BAD

Let's keep saying this until we're put of the post season. He'll I'm sure that's what terrible baseball programs around the country say all the time... "Welp, we lost 40 games... that's just baseball! "

Everyone knew hitting would be a problem this year before the season even started, and that is exactly what is taking place on the field. The scary thing is we are not hitting against weaker teams- just wait until we play the tougher conference teams. There is nothing to suggest this is an Omaha caliber team, but I at least hope we don't miss our on the post-season again, that would be an embarassement and could start to spell the end for PM. However, I will still be there to support the team, win or lose...

we gave away Saturday's game. At the very least you wait for a pitch to hit to the outfield not one that you will roll over on and hit a double play ground ball to second. Auburn given the same chance got the job dome.

It's this recurring theme that's getting so old, going all the way back to last year.

I want to know where this stellar pitching is beyond Gausman and Goody. I mean Nola and Eades are good, but I wouldnt say they are any better than the starters for other SEC teams. Gausman is the only one that stands out and he lost against both of the SEC teams he faced. This is going to be the same as what we did to Texas in CWS. Teams will pitch their worse starter against Gausman and just beat us Sat and Sun and take their chances with Gausman on Fri.
