The ump will call that damned outside pitch every time. Been watching that crap since I witnessed it in Omaha in '98. Not fair, but that's how it works at the CWS.

I didn't see no beating last night. We won 7-6. Just because we didn't win 100-0 and your heart got going a little doesn't mean we got dominated.

Gmorgan, you one of my favorite people on the rant and I hate to disagree with you but me and almost everybody else here saw us get the smack down laid upon us. We lucked up and won (which I will take)

LSU needs to stop swinging for the fence and try for base hits. After all base hits wins games.

While we have been doing this, especially lately, tonight we just stood there and watched strikes go by.

PM's mid-game interview sounded very much like this game was conceded to get Ranaudo an extra day's rest. Hope it works. Beyond that, how do the Tigers seem so flat and unemotional with a chance to close it out on the line tonight? Obviously, Jungman had a lot to do with that, but
LSU seemed almost disinterested. Crowd sounded that way, too. Like a Brave's game.

That's right, the umps IMO were very fair and made each and every call right. You can only ask for consistency and I think it was.

Well, either you people are losing it or I need to get my eyes checked. Personally, I think it's an overreaction to a loss tonight and it's going to be impossible to convince angry people of anything so I'm going to just give up. Tigers win the national title tomorrow.

I at least agree it was equally inconsistent, but inconsistent it was.

I think (surprisingly) most people here aren't very angry. I know I'm not. I'm an old school "you can't win em all" kinda guy. I was expecting an epic meltdown. I haven't seen that. My thread was just to give some props to a good Texas team that has put us against the wall twice. Once successfully.

LSU as a team just isnt hitting really... You take away Dean, Mitchell, LaMaheiu and they are 7/45 as a team

I hope you are right. Because tonight, we gave UT a chance to win this damn series.

Well, if you mean by getting smacked down, we made a heart stopping, ESPN instant classic come from behind, never say die gutsy as hell performance that netted a check mark in the W column, then yeah.

We got lucky? When UT wins on a walk off walk and two homeruns in the 9th no one calls them lucky. If we score two runs in any other inning other than the top of the ninth no one calls it lucky. It's not lucky when you score two runs in the the ninth with two out. Matook's game winning hit wasn't lucky, he didn't have his eyes closed at the plate. We came back and won a game just like Texas did against at least twice in the CWS. Texas does it and they get a nickname, we do it and you're calling it lucky? BS. We have talent and grit and heart. That's not luck.

The point is not that the strike zone sucked (because it did for both teams), but that the hitter and pitcher didn't know what a strike was from pitch to pitch.

Broke: I don't think Texas took us to the woodshed on Monday. They had very good hits but a lot of those would have been a pop up in normal conditions. In other words, those homers are only really fly outs most of the time. Considering we scored one more point that them I would never think of the first game as anyone getting taken to the woodshed.

Texas' pitcher was just too good tonight. Hats off to him.

Um ... wow, OK. I could have sworn we won in game 1. Is there going to be a game 3 tomorrow night?
2 people can get in a fight, one gets his arse beat and he gets that "knockout punch" to end it. doesn't mean he didn't get the shite beat out of him.

UT beat our arse down Game 1 and we found a way to land that knockout punch.
