I wonder if we have all the other candidates for coach on hold because Corbin has indicated he would be willing to talk post season? Or if perhaps the Vandy pitching coach is a target and he too cannot talk til post season?

It aint the pitching coach. Assistants have been and take jobs all the time while their team is still playing. If it was an assistant, lsu wouldve already announced the hiring

I think Corbin has interest. Now, whether it’s legit or just a ploy for a raise remains to be seen.
But if you’re Woodward and Corbin says he’s interested, you have to listen. You’d be a shitty AD not to.
That’s just my uninformed opinion and think he’s the hold up on this whole thing. Once the extent of interest is determined, the hire will move very quickly.

I think you’re in the ballpark of what’s going on. I have a feeling that Corbin is the number one target and he’s willing to listen to an offer. Vanderbilt’s new chancellor is pro athletics unlike the last one and I think that he will step up and beat any offer that LSU throws Corbin’s way. But, I don’t think Corbin is looking for money, at least not for himself. I believe he wants higher assistant coach salaries and stadium upgrades. I truly think that Corbin will retire at Vandy and they’ll end up naming the field after him. But, if for some reason Vandy doesn’t step up and do what they need to do he very well could leave.

This is my exact thoughts. I think O'Sullivan was his original #1 and the board shut that down due to off the field issues. I think Corbin is his new #1 and he's waiting to meet with him before pulling the trigger on someone else.
I have heard from a few different resources that it's still Vitello and they are still working through negotiations. Who knows
