My first year as an LSU student was in 1973 and I attended the LSU vs T-A&M game. When I saw the fan embraced wave, heard the coordinated cheers, witnessed the military marching band, I was like, "WTF is this?". LSU pulled out a hard fought 5 point win in Tiger Stadium and I left convinced the intensity of the A&M fanbase and their involvement in the game played an integral part in almost pulling off an upset against heavily favored LSU.

Weird...yes. Unique...most definitely. Influential in a game's outcome...without a doubt.

My bucket list includes road games to all SEC venues. College Station would be at the top.

Yeah, you're probably right. I didn't graduate from A&M Consolidated HS in '06. I don't play music there monthly. Hey you know what? If you want my arse kicked, come do it yourself. I'll be at Church Street Blues & BBQ Saturday night. I'll be the guy on stage. frickface.

A&M doesn't call their alums alumni.....just call the former students

2 percenters are students not interested in traditions.

Also be ready for uncover nazis....although that might only be bad in the student section of Kyle.

2.) Go to Midnight Yell. If you have never seen it before, it can be a pretty awesome spectacle. Yes, the jokes/stories you hear will likely be corny and lame (see point #1), but seeing 40,000+ students roll into a stadium at midnight for a yell practice is something to take in at least once.
I'll be making the trip and will actually be making it out to this. Where do opposing team's fans sit for Midnight Yell?

A few replies...

For the guy asking where to sit for midnight yell, you sit with everyone else.Everyone sits on the same side of the stadium and it will be very apparent once you get there.

For the people speaking about the grass...just as an FYI, the "stay off the grass" thing only applies to the grass directly outside of the Memorial Student Center (we call it the MSC) and that is because the grounds around the MSC are a living memorial to all former Aggies who have died while serving our country in the various branches of military service.

For the guy saying that you don't need a refresher course on how to enjoy an opposing team's campus...feel free to move along to the next topic.

Thanks and Gig 'Em.

It's that and the references that the Aggies make about whipping the drunk Coonass who walks on the grass that make me laugh. I've seen the PSA's about how bad LSU fans are and for the Aggies to walk in pairs, don't make eye contact....etc. You don't have a clue.

The point I make is we travel to storied and tradition rich schools all the time. Most with football history that others dream of. You see, it's a passion here at LSU that didn't just start. We travel well, party hard, cheer for our Tigers and yes, we are PASSIONATE.

I know it's shocking to the well heeled Aggies, but we do have the Internet in Louisiana and some folks even know how to use the google on the interwebs. We know the history and most of us have been to a game or two there.

As far as moving along, meh, this is the Tiger Rant. It's the kind of place where those who sport the Purple and Gold let off a little steam.

Meant no disrespect with it. Only meant that if this is not news to you or if this is old information, then you weren't the target audience, feel free to ignore it. However, for those that did not know about this stuff, or if this was going to be your first trip, then hopefully a little information would be helpful.
