.but there will come a day where we'll need to throw the ball 25-30 times to win the game.

I hope its not the first time we're trying that in a game. They very well may be able to throw it more and stay very efficient, but at this time no one knows if they can do it in a game, because they're yet to do it.

You seem awfully worried about 7 more passes. Are you concerned that Etling's arm may fall off? If he can maintain efficiency at 15-20 pass attempts, it's not going to magically drop off at 25.

And just in case you counter with, "How will we know if he can make the throws when he needs to?" throwing the ball more in blowouts won't prove that. You can't practice "making the throws when you need to." Throwing the ball 25-30 times in a blowout won't prepare him to throw 25-30 times in a tight game.

throwing the ball more in blowouts

What happened to all the concern expressed on the rant for a few years in the past about LSU.s need to work on it passing game even in blowouts rather than waiting for the time when we have to have it? What happen to the thought that the more we show the more a team has to prepare for in the short period of time they have in the regular season?

I am not saying you are wrong.

We've probably shortened the first two tune-up games on purpose, using the run, to prevent injury... we are a little thin at O Line this year...

Also its hard to throw a "lot" of passes when, in the second game, one pass goes for 50+ yards.... I mean there's only so many of those you can throw in a game...

such lame and tired excuses

Did you even watch them play this year. The safety was playing deep to stop the pass and we kept gashing them for 7-8 yards. The safety moved up for run support and Canada immediately calls in a long pass play. What would you have the man do?

Gets to LSU and Etling is yet to get out of teens.

The passing game has been more efficient this season than it has been in a long time, with the exception of Mett in 2013. He's taking what the defense if giving him and if they can't stop the run then why would you change that? It allows you to control the TOP of the game. Canada has repeatedly said that he takes what the defense is allowing him to do and that's the best offensive strategy that you can have. Unlike the previous coaches, who seemed to do the exact opposite of that.
