Week 1 2025- Clemson

Another year, another opening week road game to a major opponent. Looks like we only have 3 OOC games set for right now. Is there any chance LSU can open with a week 0 game against a gimme just get some kinks worked out? Surprised nothing has been done yet. It's been years since they've looked ready for week 1, even under different coaches.

Yes. Abiding by the Hawaii rule, I believe Wyoming would be available on 8/30.

They really ought to do the week zero thing. It's likely going to be a new QB and a rebuilt offensive line with first time starters. A tune up game would do wonders for getting their feet under them before going on the road to Clemson.

I for one am excited about this game. A home and home with a traditional powerhouse. Can't wait to travel to Clemson next year and have them here in return.

I guess I saw it as whiny because there have been so many of those. I'll just say it seems like more of an offseason thread. I think that there will be an effort going forward to start the season with less of a difficult opponent. Kelly has made some allusions to that while not saying it specifically. Unfortunately, the odds for next season starting with a week-zero game seem less than likely.
I think a good idea for LSU would be to start a week zero special event called the Louisiana Kickoff series where LSU plays other Louisiana schools to start each year like it is a special event. Or a kickoff event celebrating the HBCUs and playing a different SWAC team each year. Something the NCAA would sanction and would give LSU a basic rent a win each year. Doubt either would happen but it was just a thought

Bc lsu only brings the pep band. The full band would motivate them. Jk
