Why would we want to get embarrassed again?

Don't understand your scenario, seems like UGA would still have the tie breaker over LSU

We’d have the same record as Georgia in a 5+ team tiebreak scenario. Then it goes to conference opponent winning percentage in a multi-team tiebreak.

We’ll know a lot more about where we stand after next weekend.

If all the favorites win these matchups:
LSU > Florida
USC > Mizzou
Georgia > Tennessee

then our odds of making the SECCG and playing for a guaranteed playoff bid increase dramatically.

The only other SEC matchup this coming weekend is Arkansas v Texas. Would be a massive upset but if the piggies pulled it off lsu would practically control their own destiny again. Essentially it comes down to the fact that lsu did not have the 3 worst sec teams on their schedule this year: UK, Auburn, MSU

Why would you want to see LSU playing in the SEC Championship game?

You don’t really think we can get to the conference championship…after what we’ve seen this year? We’d get blown out anyway.

We don’t deserve to be there. We don’t deserve the playoff.

No team who gets blown out by ANYONE should be in a playoff.

And if one sneaks in, it’s just evidence that the playoff has too many slots.

This team has no business being in the SEC champ game. Sorry.

Never understand this loser mindset. First of all the season isn’t over yet. Second if they make the sec championship game it’s because the record they have deserves them to be in it. It would take other “under deserving” teams to lose. And the SEC is fricking hard. It’s like saying the 2007 New York Giants didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs.

It’s like you didn’t even watch the past two games.

This isn’t a team with grit that simply fell short.

The point in saying “this team doesn’t deserve it” is largely that this team doesn’t have it, so stop wasting breathe speculating. It’s not going to happen.

Did the 2001 team deserve to be in the SECCG after losing at home to Ole Miss and falling to 4-3 (2-3)?

Tennessee has 0 shot to go into Athens and win. They have a good win vs Bama, but that's it. Nothing else. No other team really above .500 they've beat so far.

I think you're missing the point. Could it happen .. absolutely. But what have you seen in the last 6 quarters of football that would lead you to believe that we could compete?

Upsets happen all the time in football. We’d probably even be favored over A&M.

Would you rather a chance at winning an SEC title or not?

Who cares if it’s a travesty? If we make it we make it, the heck with what’s best for the SEC or College Football. Other teams lose, the SEC is most likely going to end up with only 1, 1 loss team, and several 2 loss teams will make the playoffs.

And we should all be happy about it, and excited about the opportunity. This new format is going to allow for a 2 loss, and in unique situations a 3 loss team into the playoff. It has nothing to do with “deserving” or if it’s “bad for the SEC”. The days of having to go undefeated or 1 loss are over. You can lose 2-3 games and still get it, and it’s just the way it’s going to be. At least we still have a possibility. Get in , try to win SECCG and see what happens.

Again your missing the point. This team isn't sniffing an SEC championship unless things change drastically with Nuss, Sloan's play calling, Kelly's coaching, defensive coaching etc.
