Ok cool... you say it's not relevant but in your opinion is Okie St. a easy win for LSU... most on here think that way. But as far as claiming a NC for losing the title game that's s no brainer.....

Eh. I think the ball went directly over the goalpost which I believe means it’s no good.
OK St deserved to be in, but I don’t hang my hat on the idea that the FG was good or that the players were distraught over the women’s basketball coach dying in a plane crash. Ok St deserved to be in based on it’s resume through the entire season. Alternatively, Bama was deemed worthy based mostly on it’s glorious close loss to LSU.

What I’m saying is not relevant is whether I or anyone thinks OKSt would have been an easy win for LSU. They should have been in based on resume. Look at the stats Ricky posted on wins over ranked teams.

I never said I agree with that per se, but if the AP has named us NC I would definitely have accepted it.

you can't just line up a 48-50 yard fg in cfb and act like they are points left on the field. NFL kickers this year made 48 yards and longer kicks just 65 % of the time and they are the best on the planet.

Oh o agree Bama should have not got into the game... OSU still should have gone.... I am with Ricky on this one IMP they had the better overall resume..... I am like you as far as a conference champ getting in over a non winner......

We def won the field position battle in the first game... we did not get the chance in the rematch to do this... it's like we were behind the 8 ball the whole game....

Wing was a legit weapon all year.best special teams in lsu history. we had all time greats playing special teams that year

Well you convinced me...yep, we are the 2011 National Champs. I wonder if anyone else outside of you 3 will care. I was only saying that the teams were pretty equivalent on that night, with very little seperation. Let's not pretend that LSU had some dominating performance that clearly showed they were superior. By this logic, Troy was a much better team than LSU this past season. Then came the Championship game, which showed who the better team really was. It really wasnt debatable on that night. LSU had 92 total yards and was the first team shutout in BCS history.

I haven't seen anyone say lsu we dominant on Nov. 5th but they were the better team. my point was in cfb you can't count career long fg attempts as points left on the field.

No one knew it at the time but LSU football was destroyed that night. Went from being a dynasty possibly to a nobody over night
