Heavy sigh. Only Bama fans and apologists argue quality of loss as a viable standard. You dismiss winning a conference based on a 9’game schedule where everyone plays each other because there is no CCG but think a team should be judged solely on one game, its worst game? That’s just stupid.

Winning a conference is an objective standard. Eyeball tests and “quality of loss” are subjective and the later is freaking stupid

It’d be pathetic, but LSU has a legit claim. Logically, there never should’ve been another game played after LSU beat UGA in the SECCG

exactly.

LSU beat bama at bama.

for doing that we had to beat UGA in Georgia for the right to play bama?

wtf....

oh and....

Sure he was bad at Bama but you though jj was beating saban again? Lol. Miles quit plain and simple.

JJ beat them twice, Lee was 1/7 TD/INT vs Bama and shellshocked from 11-5.
Inserting Lee would've signaled quit, plain and simple.

yeah there was a massive difference but not in the way you want.

one team actually had decent wins and the other didn't. bama's placement in that game was strictly subjective. nothing they accomplished was better than Oklahoma state.

I always wanted to see how close the final bcs rankings would be if they did them after the game. Dont forget other teams we beat finished up strong as well winning their bowl games. I would be surprised if we werent still #1 in all the computer polls.

Go watch that game again. They didnt lose. The refs blew that call. The kick was good.

ETA If you want LSU to claim the one in 2011 then that means you must advocate us giving the 2007 one back because we didn't deserve to be there then right?

only LSU fans think this because of their hatred for Miles. If not LSU, another two loss team would have been in. Its really not that hard. LSU won their conference. They did not back into the title like bama has done twice now sitting at home.

sealed the game in 2010.

JJ was 10/13 1td in the game with 40 yards rushing.
Without JJ's passing td and passing 2 point conversion then bama has a chance to tie at the end i think.

I agree that Miles should be given Lee a chance on 1/9 but JJ was the yt? better player against bama over their careers.

I sure would've liked to have seen Lee with a great qb. He release is probably the quickest release in lsu history. His throwing motion had no wasted motion.

what? what team deserved it over lsu?
we won the deepest conf in cfb and almost every team had 2 losses.

my god. I've never seen a fan base more willing to shite on its own accomplishments like lsu fans.

First of all great finds Ricky, I knew if you had a blind resume test OSU won but didn’t want to look it up.

I also always wondered if it was Oklahoma or Texas rather than Ok State who would have been in? Or if it was Miss St or Arkansas rather than Alabama? My guess is no rematch.

If we had made game close we had an argument for the AP national title golden football. But of course Bama has the bcs crystal football. But we decided to shite the bed so Bama won the AP also.

This^^^^

Had LSU played the game and come up short the announcers on every broadcast were basically saying LSU would get the AP NC.

But alas, regardless of reasons to blame, that was a scrimmage that didn't work.

No kidding. LSU definitely deserved to be in 2007. Other teams also had claims but LSU’s was strongest. I don’t know if LSU was the “best” at the end of 2007–USC, UGA, Ok were all dangerous teams.

I think the consensus was that had the BCS 1/9/12 game ended closely like the game in Tuscaloosa then LSU might have escaped with a split national championship. However the BCS title game was dominated by Alabama big time. 21-0 with the Tigers not crossing midfield.

At best we can try to claim the title is still pending because the top 2 went 1-1 with a 3rd tiebreaker never happening.

But no. how about we just beat Alabama again before I die.

agreed.

no way does Texas or Oklahoma get left out.

I also firmly believe that had it been lsu that lost on nov.5th there is no way they let us in over a conf champ.

the funny part of the ordeal would have been that we lsu fans had been telling southern Cal fans for 4 years that the AP title was meaningless now that everyone signed onto the bcs.
