I appreciate your positivity, but there are a few gaping holes in your post:

1. Stringer isn't a sophomore
2. Jalen Courtney would start with JOB? Jalen will not be a very good SEC player when it's all said and done.
3. Shane and Corbin will average 6 to 8 next year? Not even close.
4. Malik will average 18??? Geezus so you're saying he's a top 5 player in the SEC next year?

Wouldn't it be great to sneak into the tourney after winning the SEC tournament?

That would be something, wouldn't it?

Amazing that people are predicting all this success. This year's team is about .500 in a mediocre league. Pretty much all the sec teams will be better next season. They will likely be a bubble nit team this year and a bubble big dance team next season. That is a big improvement over past LSU teams. Some of the same people who are making these crazy predictions were saying how Trent would have this team turned around once he gets his own guys in here.

He shoots nearly 40% from the field and is in the top 10 in SEC 3pt.%. No, he's not Chris Jackson, but he's far from a "poor" shooter for a guard who takes most of his shots from 10ft and out.

He takes most of his shots from the 3 point line where he is 33.3% this year (and before last night was about 31-32%). That's a poor shooting number, and what I was talking about. Nobody will ever call him a good shooter, the guy even hits only 50% from the line, but as I said, he gives you clutch points when you need it.

Definitely mediocre but this gives hope of LSU winning conference tournament with resulting autobid.

We are literally returning everyone who is a decent contributor sans Carmouche and adding 4 huge pieces missing from our puzzle with some top talented guys. Nobody in the league is bringing in a better class than we are sans Kentucky. Also, very few other teams are losing as little as we are. The expectations for next year, if JOB III returns, should not be just make the NCAAT, but do damage in it. The talent on the team next year completely will rival that of our 2006 F4 team. You cant possibly look at our team next year as a Kentucky/Alabama/Ole Miss/Tennessee from this year in terms of being a bubble NCAA team with the talent and depth we'll have.

It's really easy to make a big jump (up or down) in basketball in just 1 year. The year before we won the SEC in 2009 we were a 6-10 SEC team with a 13-18 overall record. So we went from 13-18/6-10 to 26-7/13-3 in just 1 year...and our personnel didn't drastically change. We lost Anthony Randolph, added Tasmin Mitchell (hurt previous year) and retained Thornton, Spencer, Martin, Johnson and Temple. So outside of getting Mitchell back, we added no one significant to the team that year. I'd say losing Randolph and adding Mitchell was fairly even in fact. So really our team just got more experience and did more damage. Next year we will be returning a team full of experience and adding some big time missing pieces.

I agree.

Hickey and JOB are both already top 10 SEC players. We just have no one outside of them.
Carmouche & Stringer are solid but would be role players for any sweet 16 type team.

Never said he was. I just said he was going through a Sophomore slump. But I can see how people misunderstood that one.

Then why not cut him now?

Why not?

I get your side of the table but these are all opinions man. And by just saying I am wrong isn't much of an argument. Back it up with details and why you think I am wrong.

Do me a favor and analyze Trent's recruiting classes for a minute. Not one of them was as good as JJ's first class, which he built in three weeks.

shite! I did miss that one but I was running out of room to write lol

Coleman - Long, lengthy, athletic forward. He fits in the defense perfectly. He is one of the reasons we can full court press. He can cover from side to side and make some steals in the process. He is only 6'5" but plays more like a big man. He will be a senior next season so let's hope he improves his mid range game. FT shooting is one of his better attributes.

If Mickey is a role player, we are going to be good. His ability to glide to the hoop on the break will fit nicely into JJ's style.

Because they won't unless Morgan becomes an All American he will never average 18 ppg. It just won't happen. 12-14 ppg is really good. Hammnik and Collins will be role players and Collins won't even play that much. Hammnik has a shot at it, but role players in college don't average 6-8 ppg. I don't think you understand how collgeg teams score, but i like your optimism.
