As if anyone takes anything Miles says publicly seriously or that Miles really cares what the rest of the nation thinks.

I am the last person on earth that wants LSU to bend or break rules to accomadate thugs. But I don't have a problem with them taking him back because the rules and their penalties did not dictate a manditory permanent kicking off the team.
Follow the rules that were in place before he even signed with LSU and enforce them.
The synthetic pot is the least severe infraction of all the non-alcholic drugs on the drug policy. I don't think this calls for exceeding the written punishment for the infraction.

Just win baby. Bring him back and sweep it under the rug is what I say.

I hear what you're saying but he's a habitual line crosser and for some reason I can't see that changing anytime soon. I hope he proves me wrong though. I wish him all the best but I don't think LSU should waver off this. It'll be better for him and the school.

I completely disagree with OP.
If TM wants to sit out a year, run the straight and narrow, keep his body in football shape, make his grades, I think that would be one helluva statment of remorse/changing from making bad decisions.
I'd welcome him back.

Tm7 knows he nothing without LSU. I wouldnt allow him back. Why would you sit out a whole year??? And have to tryout for the team again, when he could play at McNeese or another school and stay fresh

Na man, America loves a redemption story and Tyrann desperately needs redemption.
It would be a difficult path but one that could prove dedication, responsibility and maturity. Plus, sitting out of football a year, getting his personal life in order and then coming back to the LSU team in 2013 could be worth MILLION$$ for him. Think about it...like I said everyone loves a good comeback story. He already has national name recognition, and by choosing the more challenging path he could only help repair his image in the eyes of NFL teams, fans and company exects for potential future product endorsements. Not to be a homer, but if I were advising him, that is exactly the path I would urge him to take. It is plainly clear he is not mature and responsible enough yet to be thrown into the circus that is the NFL. He would now probably only be a mid to late round pick. Looking at the big picture, it really is a no brainer...IF he can get his life in order.
It would be a shame to declare in next year's draft and have to settle for (maybe) a few hundred thousand at signing instead of the several million (plus endorsements) he could get if he were to rehabilitate himself and his image. It would be the biggest college football story of 2013.

If he transferred and has a drug free year with McNeese, that shows he's trying to get his life straight. If he also puts up big stats on another team, it'll show that he's better than we really think. Possibly showing scouts he could take his talents to the next level. I think he was a late second to fourth round pick at Lsu to begin with. He's 5'9 on a good day. Can only play nickel defense or return man. Not too many teams wanna take a player that plays just return man in the top 4 rounds.

He needs to concentrate on himself this year and not football at all. To me that shows more maturity and dedication than just transferring and saying all is good in a year. I think an NFL team would take a mature and ready to lead Tyrann in the 2nd...the guy is that dynamic of a play maker. In the right system he could cause a lot of problems.

One Alabama fan's opinion:
TM7 did not get kicked off because he did something awful. He does not seem like a bad dude, or a cancer to LSU's team, or anything like that. The violation he committed was not an unforgivable one. He is stubborn for not staying pot-free, but a one year suspension is punishment enough for him for the said offense, and I think he definitely should be able to return next year if he does not get into any trouble.
Is that how Bama justified keeping Dre' around?
Besides, if I'm not mistaken, LSU is still on probation. The last thing we want is to give the NCAA a reason to come snooping around the program

and what rule would be broken if LSU allowed TM7 back next year?

The Bama guy is actually the reasonable one.

If true, it would be because Bama doesn't administer drug tests, or has a much more lenient policy than LSU.

If the NCAA wants to dig deep enough, I'm fairly certain they can find dirt on virtually any SEC program. With LSU on probation, it wouldn't be wise to do anything to raise the suspicion of the NCAA.
