When we did it in 2008 it was LSU being a gracious winner and inclusive of our conference counterparts, having won two Nattys in four years. And also mocking OSU in losing back-to-back vs SEC, when all the media was wishing for another OSU-Mich score-a-thon rematch.
Now, with Clemson dominating the playoff landscape, and LSU being 8 years removed from this title game stage..
It should be in selling L-S-U only to America and all the recruits watching the game. Help Coach O's brand be springboarded to the elite.

Sure, some feel that way.
There’s never unanimity of opinion when the sample size is large enough.
I’m not basing my statement off of Finebaum. I’m basing it off of my interactions with fans from other teams including Bama, plus my interactions on here and SEC Rant.
After we castrated Oklahoma, a majority of their fans (that I interacted with) were saying they hope we beat Clemson. Same with Bama fans.
It’s okay to disagree. We all have opinions and none of them are particularly important.

That’s cool, but Finebaum’s view is more likely more representative of the fanbase at large.

Now ask those Bama fans what they think of LSU long term? Do they view us as a equal program or do they think we will back in our lane behind them next year? That we are a 1 hit wonder. That’s my experience with Bama fans. But if you want to think those condescending douche bags are rooting for us out of conference pride and not just against Clemson go right ahead

Sure and who we root for ultimate doesn’t influence the outcome but remember the next time we lose a big recruit to them it’s ok because they are in the SEC. Ditto next time we have to beat them twice to win the title that’s it’s cool because at least an SEC team won
