much better example, i'm sure the battery charges had nothing to do with his stock falling

he was kicked off 2 college teams

Yes. Pot definitely prevented this guy from having a successful NFL career. Who is Randy Moss anyways?

This I can actually agree with. So Pratt is stupid.

He's not evil. He's not a bad seed. We didn't "dodge a bullet."

He just got caught with some pot. Half our players do it but they are just smart enough to not get caught.

And that is the difference between a Pratt and a Claude Wroten. The difference between a Randy Moss and a Ricky Williams.

But this whole....pot will ruin your career argument....is clearly just wrong. People admit to smoking it and still get drafted high. People get caught smoking it and don't get kicked out of the league.

He was kicked off FSU for violating his parole by smoking pot.

By the way, how many commercials have you seen Randy Moss in lately? The guy is the 2nd greatest WR in the history of football.

Anyone who doesn't believe that Dexter Pratt is throwing away $$$ needs to step away fron the bong.

To go back to the original point of the OP, we did "dodge a bullet" in that Les Miles and LSU don't want or need this kind of publicity.

Look, maybe Pratt is a really great person who made an idiotic mistake. But I promise you that Les Miles is glad that it is some other coach who has to deal with this right now.

I agree. I can't believe how naive this board is acting right now.

ETA: An extremely high percentage of pro and college players smoke. And by high I mean well over 50%.

so how are the situations related again? Its different when someone has already had charges on them for battery. This is just some misdemeanor charge, basically the same as a stupid MIP. Did you ever drink underage?

his stock also probably dropped for his comments about the marshall plane crash. He had a ton of skeletons in his closet before the draft

Marijuana destroys peoples lives.
It rips families apart.
It makes people do terrible things they usually wouldnt do, just get their next fix.
It takes hold of people and crushes their dreams.
Millions get additced and die every year.

What the hell does this have to do with it? Absolutely nothing. It's a stupid question.

It shows what kind of character this kid is. Do you think you could go into Scott's of Jefferson's, or Shep's appartment right now and find the same thing? I say no.

I did dope one time and then i went and ate my little brother's whole box of fruity pebbles and was supposed to watch a movie I had recorded but i got stuck on the home shopping network and watched the lady talk about tea cups for like an hour. Then I almost forgot to get the mail. It only lasted about an hour or two but it was terrible bc my little brother didn't have anything to eat for breakfast the next morning.

Dexter pratt should go to jail for a year or two so he will learn his lesson about doing dope.

Please talk to your loved ones about this nasty drug and potentially save their life.

So now its gone from "pot will prevent you from being drafted" to "pot will cost you commercial money".

I think Randy Moss will be alright with the millions he made playing football.

You are assuming Pratt would have been busted here. Maybe if he never goes to Stillwater, he never gets busted and nobody ever knows he smokes.

Maybe the question was stupid, but I was just stating how prevelant smoking pot is.

The 3 players you pointed out may not have pot on them at any time, and I hope they never do... I hope nobody on our team ever smokes pot, but it would be ridiculous to think that a large number of them don't do it at times.

I'm not condoning pot smoking at all (it is illegal), and someone who gets caught with it should get whatever punishment the law throws at them, but at the same time I think it's silly to think this kid will forever be a bad seed or a bad character guy because of this incident.

Probably.

Then you're more naive than your posts. I'll bet you could walk into at least half of the players' homes and find an 8th somewhere.

ETA: I don't think this is just our players. I think this applies to just about any college football program.

Now you're just padding your stats, and it's keeping this thread going.

This is the rant. You can't stop it. It's an unstoppable rebel force.
