True, but they're still just kids. I want to see them make the best decision as well, but this just doesn't always happen. Hopefully he learns from this and has a great career.

How many of you could have gotten caught in college with pot and been arrested for the same thing?

it shouldn't even be illegal, and many studies show the effects are much better than alcohol

Kids? No. Last time I checked, 18-year-olds could vote. The fact that you were obviously a big dopehead in college doesn't qualify as an excuse for this "kid" or any other one.

i can promise you over 1/2 of the LSU team could get caught on these same charges. Not a big deal at all, but people like you will make it one

Good luck to them. So minor it shouldn't warrant more than a warning.

Played in this kids district in HS, he definitely wasn't a straight shooter. The town he's from (Navasota) is a shithole.

Why attack me? This statement is completely false. I was not a "big dopehead" in college, but I did plenty of things that I look back on as completely stupid. You've never done dumb things that could have gotten you into trouble? Please just stop.

So you were a small dopehead, then? My apologies.

Seriously, I get sick of people trying to make excuses for criminal behavior. I have definitely done dumb things in my life, but I don't try try to excuse them by saying that I was young or that lots of other people also did it.

If you want to write to your congressmen and ask them to legalize pot, that's fine with me. In the meantime, pot is illegal and any 4* recruit who uses it is an idiot and risks losing millions of dollars. This will hurt Pratt's draft stock in 4 years.

Wrong again. I was never interested in smoking. What excuses did I make? What gave you the impression that I wanted pot legalized? I simply don't think it's time to crucify the man yet.
You are very hard discuss things with.

Fixed. Maybe he's not the drug dealing thug you think he is. Then, again, he may be. Who knows.

It's patently absurd that possession of a small amount of marijuana is still a crime in this country.

Yes, especially if you want to make millions playing in the NFL, which tests for marijuana and will suspend you if you smoke it.

Also if you don't want to be arrested.

Signed

Calvin Johnson

(Translation: the NFL doesn't give a crap so long as you can play)

Where have you been the last few years? Percy Harvin disagrees with you. He says the NFL doesn't give a shite.

players smoke all the time in the offseason, especially in the NFL. How do you think 1/2 the team celebrates after a bowl win?

The most exciting, dangerous player in college football fell to #22 in the draft.

Thanks for proving my point.

nothing to do with his size or the fact that he was injured all throughout his college career. Nothing to do with his durability being question and the fact that teams have other needs besides a small hurt yet explosive player.

nothing to do with the fact that he isn't a great WR (the position he was drafted at) and can't run routes correctly.

he dropped (in the 1st round) mainly because of weed

where did Calvin Johnson get drafted?

Because he is not a prototypical WR and played almost more like a running back in college.

Dude was a first round draft pick.

Where was Calvin Johnson drafted? I notice you didn't want to touch that example. Dude admitted he smokes weed and was still drafted #2 overall.

There goes your argument. Bye.

There is a huge difference between being honest about a prior mistake in an interview and getting arrested for a crime.

Seriously, if I tell State Farm that I sometimes speed when driving, are they going to raise my rates? No, but they will if I get a ticket.

A much better example is Randy Moss, who might have been the #1 overall pick but fell to #21, partly as a result of testing postive for pot during his parole for a fight he was involved in.
