o after we "steal" this fine upstanding coach from FIU does that mean we have a "in" with the Men's BB Coach when it comes time to run Trent off?

yeah Isiah Fricking Thomas is coming to replace TJ

Let's hope not

Baton Rouge just got a new Red Lobster, the LSU job just became a whole lot more appealing to Isaiah Thomas

I sure would like to know whats going on with this softball hire thats causing coaches to bail. Something seems very fishy on LSU's end. They allowing Yvette to still have control over the program with a new coach?

What does this statement mean?
quote:

Sources said LSU is being very careful with the hire and is likewise leaning towards Torina because she would be safe and cooperative.

Murphy - change of heart
Habetz - an asisstant. Sources said LSU was ready to hire Habetz on the spot, but she became afraid
Gumpf - Gumpf then backed out of the interview and chose to stay in South Bend.

No left coast names where softball was played before the Pilgrims arrived and is the dominant force...like the SEC is to football....is a big disappointment.

Wonder if we don't want them or they don't want us?

I would think LSU would be a fairly attractive program. New facility and all but I'm guessing there is more to this that meets the eye and something fishy going on in LSU administration.

An assistant declines because she is afraid? Notre Dame coach, excited about the interview and bought plane tickets then declines the interview?

LSU wants a safe hire and cooperative and a yes person?

The deal with Murphy was he never informed the administration at Alabama that he had been contacted and offered the job at LSU. So after he accepted the LSU gig, Alabama called him up and offered him the 225k salary plus an additional 10-15% with incentives. And the assistant got a pretty good raise as well. The Kentucky coach would have been the choice had Murphy turned LSU down in the beginning.

This is what worries me. LSU goes from offering the job to a coach with 6 WCWS appearances to potentially hiring one whose teams have been to the postseason only once? Something is rotten in Denmark.

It appears so. If this is the case, then who will be in the background pulling the strings, Yvette? If so, then why not just let her stay on as coach instead of conducting a sham search?

Not buying this. But if true, it simply corroborates how stupid Murphy and his agent/lawyer/person that helps him with these decisions is.

I am going to stand by my "FIU softball coach will bring Isiah Thomas to Baton Rouge" thought

That's what all indications are. But Murphy screwed that up for LSU too.

Yeah. It's fricking hilarious isn't it?

If Alleva had any balls, he'd go after Lawson anyway. LSU might have to pay her buyout, but at least her salary wouldn't be what they were gonna pay that assclown from Bama.
