Serious question here-

did it seem like NT's plan was to hit the QB every chance they could?

I mean, it was generally understood we would try to work on the passing game; this was common knowledge.

We ran for over 300 yds, and yet they weren't biting on play-action. They were sure calling a lot of blitzes too.

It just seemed like that was their goal- not to win, or to try to withstand our offense; but to put a lick on our QB.

we didn't look like OU or anything, but we didn't look good last night, overall. our offense was a lot like the 2010 offense, where we had huge outlier plays, a bunch of short rushing plays, and nothing else

Your a moron, negatiger dude....

2010 offense averaged less than 300 yard per game all season with a season high 31 pt game v aubbie....

Yesterday we had 500 yards of offense and scored 41...

Do you see how the difference here? Basically, the production yesterday was nothing like 2010

what I meant is- I'm sure they knew they were gonna get stomped this game, as they did. It seemed like the defensive goal was to hit our qb; as in "LSU will score, and we will lose, but take every opportunity to hit their QB. Don't hold up on play-action, don't pull up if it seems he might be going into motion and you will be late; tag the LSU QB every chance you get".

It just seemed... odd, how much they were blitzing a team that was crushing them on the ground. They never seemed to "respect the run", as such.

That Michigan team was as outmanned as N. Texas. UM will lose 4-5 games this year.

North Texas could probably give Michigan a pretty good game.

You laugh, but I really think they could. Michigan was replacing a million starters, and their best RB wasn't playing.

these are games where our team is supposed to work out kinks in the areas where we suck, like, the deep passing game

It was also mets first game. He needs to learn how to run the whole offense. There is alot of running plays in the offense.

What you are saying is false. We do need a vertical passing game. There will be times (though it may not be often) when we will need to complete some passes down the field. It may be 3rd and long or it may be when teams are stacking the box against us. The threat of being able to throw the ball down the field also keeps the other team honest. It opens up the running game.

Some people just don't understand how being effective in one aspect is beneficial to the other and vice versa. Like I said in a previous post, while the wr screens took advantage of the large cushions, they did little to stop NT from playing with 8 men in the box.

Mett was taking shots. Rbs and o line were blowing blocking assignments. So you have 2 options...risk getting mett blown up again or get conservative. I will go with getting conservative in a game we can't lose and shoring up the pass protection issues in practice.
