Seriously,......
To the rant what other “top notch” program doesn’t have a qb coach?
This is why we are going to be irrelevant for the next 5 years. Hate to break that news to you. If Brennan or Narcisse are worth a damn they won’t get better because no one coaches them during individual!! What are they gonna do? Sit and watch Meatball coach dline?!
This is when you know LSU football has gone back to the dark ages.

But we have two WR coaches and a tight end coach calling the plays so we are fine. Our players should excel at catching so much it doesn’t matter if we can’t throw. Secret pages of the binder.

While I agree with most everything you said, I disagree with this statement. We DEFINITELY need to have someone that can develop QBs. Like, BAD! However, since the Miles era (excluding Jimbo) who have we had that developed QBs? QB play has been our downfall, but we still went to SEC Champs and 2 NC games. I wouldn't call that the dark ages.

It is almost unfathomable where we are as a program.
0% chance to sign Grant Gunnel without someone to develop him.

The program is a clown show from top to bottom now.

Ironically, I've always thought that CSE should be given some tools (a QC guy or two, better media for player film study, etc) and given a shot as a QB coach.
I have doubts about him alone, either under Miles or CEO, but with a specialist to back him up on drills, mechanics, and other finer points (some of that 'modernization') he could be effective.
I will note just like Miles having our OL coach be the OC, if CEO expects Ensminger to be OC and QB coach the double-duty hurts both. QBs are valuable enough (obviously) and coaching and coordinating are different enough where a designated QB coach is warranted.

Haven't you heard it was Steve that developed Jason Campbell 15 years ago. It wasnt Bobby Petrino or Al Borges. It was Esnminger who spent 1 season with him and developed hin so well they said:
STEVE, you are clearly done here with Jason there is nothing more to develop. We went 8-5 with him. So we are gonna need you to coach TEs for us. Al Borges is gonna take over and will utilize this 3 year starter you molded for us in 1 season.

Isn’t the OC also the QB coach at most places?

Comes down to the person, the OC. With some it is in their background. With others it is necessary with their system. Just like Studwra was not capable of running an offense and coaching up an OL simultaneously, I don't think MOST are capable of doing both OC and QB coach, including CSE.
Just because many are doing it, doesn't mean they are doing it well. The one's that are capable of combining those two are on a very short list IMHO. CSE, or Canada for the record, aren't on that list.
As an example Chad Morris is; he designs his offensive system around the QB and can 'mesh' the two, he has to. AND he's got experience both coaching QBs and as an OC, so again- the mesh. For a long time we've run 'systems' that at least attempt to make us non-QB dependent, only to discover there is no such thing and therefore assume that the OC can double as QB coach.
I just dislike two things: coaching players = coordinating and that an OC can/should automatically be able to be a QB coach. It's two different things.

Wasn't Steve Ensminger a quarterback? At LSU? Would that not qualify him to be a quarterback coach without the title?

Yes. And DCs coach positions too. Aranda coaches LBs. This thread—and its OP—are fricking retarded.
