My point is just having MVB run things in the structure we currently have isn’t going to produce anything different. You want to play him, fine but him being able to scramble for a couple yards a game won’t change the offense. If it’s not a 4 or 5 wide formation it needs to be scrapped from the playbook.

I think Nuss demise was late in the half he turned into a defender trying to escape instead of stepping up and either running or give himself a second to find a receiver

What evidence / film do we have that our OLine can hold up against an even average pass rush? There is none.

On the other hand we have a freshman RB averaging over 5 yards a carry. And the only success our offense had last night was when? When we committed to running the football. hmmm.

We’ve never committed to the run game. Your TEs cannot block so having Sharpe attached to the line does nothing but give the numbers to the defense. Green is a great weapon but also better detached. Adding more guys who can’t block to the Oline doesn't produce better protection. All it does is bring more defenders into the zone.

Why when someone post a different version that you saw they didn't watch the game?

Maybe the OP saw what he saw and you saw what you saw

you can commit to the run game while remaining balanced offensively. instead of all gimmicky screen bullshite, run the ball.

we do not have the personnel to run a true spread offense.

This is a meaningless stat comparing Nuss vs MVB

I agree. So let’s play MVB some more, see what we have with him.

I think most of Nuss problems come from playing behind an OLine that sucks. It fricked his head up.

But, we need to see if MVB is serviceable, and if he’ll stay around next season.

You can’t though because you can’t block it. This has been tried all year and it’s failed because we don’t have the personnel to do it. We have spread personnel, that’s the point. Doesn’t mean you can’t involve the backs. This is why we can’t score in the red zone, this is why we’re so bad in short yardage. I love how you guys just want to ignore the fact that we can’t block anyone as if it’s a peripheral thing that doesn’t really matter when it’s the most important thing. The only amendment you can make is to take guys out of the box with formations. Thats why spread concepts started in the first place.

Yet you’re tossing out insults while ignoring the obvious: having a statue at QB with a bad case of the yips doesn’t exactly help with what you’re calling ‘the most important thing.’

… and stopped playing Berry in the second half, which was a head-scratcher for sure.

P.S. I was OK with pulling Nuss.

This thread is a perfect example of why no one should take Madking seriously on this site.

Just look at the last few pages: projection, zero substance, no real rebuttal, and then he falls back on acting like a child.

He is clearly a fan of Nuss, which I take no issue with. Nuss is a Tiger still, but MadKing cannot articulate his point on why MVB shouldn’t be given a shot without the ridiculous antics
