Montana State was a much better team and better coached.

Also worth noting

With the win over Oregon State, LSU jumped Stanford and is now sitting at #2 in the NET Rankings.

Every athletic program minus football, mens basketball and particular baseball programs don't make a profit unfortunately. Though some programs are a money drain more than others.

That said, Kim brings in a lot of money just from her name to the University, and if they continue to win and bring good publicity to the school, its worth it compared to the Nikki days where we lost money, played in empty arenas and weren't recognized nationally.

One thing Kim brings to the table is she is one of the best at raising money. Its not just for the WBB program but for the athletic department to move forward with facility upgrades. That was one of the big things Woodward wanted to use her when she was hired, as someone who can raise money for LSU athletics. She does a lot of fundraising behind the scenes

So you are saying in a few years we can expect the WBB program to operate with a profit rather than a loss?

Maybe once all the top players she recruits get to the WNBA they’ll start donating millions to the athletic department like the MBB, FB, and BB players have and continue to do.

Can’t imagine how this team will look next year with the additions coming in this class. Not even looking at transfers yet.

Absolutely filthy is the only way to describe it.

Del Rosario (6'5" Ranked #4 Class of 2023) and Angel Reese down low. Mikaylah Williams (#1 in Class of 2023) running point.

Sounds great! Fowles was making -200k this year and somehow she’ll donate millions to LSU. And she was one of the highest paid players in the WNBA. Kim Mulkey’s salary is almost 2x the WNBA salary cap.

There's a good chance that the program is losing less than it was under the previous coach, even with Mulkey's salary.

Let me know when they are making a profit. Losing is still losing.

That is not in any way, shape or form, how this works. The value of having winning teams, in particular basketball, football, baseball, goes beyond how many tickets they sell. But then again, we've been down this road before and many of you just believe what you want to believe. Thank goodness Scott Woodward is smarter than you all, and KNOWS the value of bringing in Kim Mulkey.

Mikaylah won't be running the point. That will fall to Angelica Velez (or Las Tear Poa), who is coming from the Webb School with Del Rosario. I would imagine you're going to see Mikaylah and Flau'je at the 2 and 3, with Velez at the point. Reese and Smith in the post with Del Rosario, coming off the bench (next season).

Lost 4 million in 2018 and this coach makes much more. I would guess they will be operating at a loss this year. Hopefully not 4 million again.

Anyone upset that we pay Kim Mulkey to make our WBB program exciting again can kick rocks. Doesn't matter if the program makes money, her presence is worth its weight in gold. If nothing else, she helps bring some fire to our AD the way DD Breaux used to but with the added bonus of NCs to her name.
