When a five year old discovers S...,F...,and all the other vulgar words of the English language, he repeats them everywhere, anywhere. Mostly because it gives him attention from mom or dad. But that's a five year old.

Well, if they are doing it out of retaliation or to make a point, they're stupid. If they're doing because they think its funny or cool, they're stupid.

It is 100% out of retaliation. It's the student section's reaction to "Tiger Rag" and "Oweo" being banned. It is a protest of the overzealous, PC obsessed, and reactionary policies of LSU's administration and it's tendencies of treating the students (the sole reason for the university's existance) like criminals in juvie. Until the administration changes it's ways and brings back Tiger Rag, Neck, Oweo, and all of the other banned songs and cuts out most of the piped in crap music, STTDB will continue to be chanted whenever the students damn well please whenever the students please.

do any other schools - that are flag ship universities have student sections that chant stuff like that when the band plays a certain song?

This is an amazingly stupid "strategy".
Yes, until the cops stop setting up speed traps on the interstate, I'm gonna speed every day past them in retaliation. My lead foot is a protest to their enforcement of the law. DERP.

No, it's more like in retaliation of speed traps, 30,000 cars speed by repeatedly in a loop and never get a ticket because all the administration can do is threaten them or not play their favorite song.

Well they are just being sheep following along a morally bankrupt society. There is nothing original or intelligent by their behavior.
It is either a direct reflection of their parents not teaching them how one must behave in public in a civil society, or a rejection of the parents who fed, clothed, bandaged their boo boos, and sacrificed to send them to college in order to follow some foul mouthed celeb culture who couldn't care less about them.

The admin can take back seats. There are plenty of ways LSU can put a stop to the unfunny "dirty" chants. I think they are all hoping the student section grows up a little and moves on.
I for one don't care that much, what a bunch of immature drunk college kids yell but I'm wise enough to know that some people do.

And the band brought it back and guess what-the idiots kept at it. Then Neck gets started and guess what the students do-trash it up. Its not funny, its not creative, and overall just shows a lack of intelligence. They were fun traditions that I wont forget having as a student. They were interactive with fellow students and the band. Now all thats left is chinese bandits. Dont get any ideas dumbasses.

Nope,I attended LSU in the 70's and I played in the Golden Band and "XKEnut" is right and your very good friend's dad is in error. "Go to hell Ole Miss" was about it. I never heard in the Stadium "the Rice deal" either.
Since I came from a great music program in high school it was easy for me to get in,and transition into their program and I didn't realize how important the accomplishment was until I got to know a lot of my fellow band members who had dreamed of playing in the Golden Band from the time that they picked up an instrument in order to be a part of the Tradition of LSU.
For this crop of students to think acting like trash continues a behavior, uh,no. Behaving like trash is not in the tradition of LSU.

I'm not sure what to do about the students at LSU who attend football games for a few minutes then leave or don't come at all.
Maybe LSU can raise the price of student tickets from $12 to $22 or something. I guess the students feel since they only paid $12 they dont feel like showing up but maybe if they had to pay a little more they may show up.
Basically any LSU student gets tickets maybe reduce the number from 14,400 to 11,500 since there are more than 2,000 no shows per game per LSUsports attendance.

They didn't repeat the "COCK" part. They just kept "You suck!" which really isn't bad at all. The fact that the admin was so appalled that 18-23 year olds would say the word "suck" and ban a song for its usage is why STTDB was created. It was stupid fighting stupid with stupid.
