quote:Everyone agrees a good safety is a need, however I still wonder about the DL. Mitchell was a good get to eat up space and the numbers evidently are there but it feels like this team needs a mean DT. A grown arse man that puts fear on the other side. I guess we are left hoping someone steps up big. I do.
he’s not done yet

We’re still getting Jacobian Guillory back & the young guys Breaux & McKinley were looking good toward end of the year. I like where we’re at on DL

it all starts with the dline with these teams. They are incredible and they don't need to blitz to pressure the qb. Of course they are good at every other le el also defensively....i just wonder how much is the line that makes them look even better than they really are or it is all talent. I know with OSU and Texas they have great db's also.

Great comments….couldn’t agree more. The combination of aggressive physical players and attacking defensive scheme from coaches is the key to success. Need them both. Physical athletes can be restricted by lack of affirmative coaching and defensive philosophy. Those teams all have a aggressive mindset, not a “bend don’t break” approach
Thanks!
Thanks!

Biggest difference in LSU and those teams sure as hell isn't on the offensive side of ball
Those teams run the ball well. They can work the clock and give the defense time to rest. Which is what LSU needed since we still weren't deep defensively.
