...is the pick 6 king of the world!!!! JL doesn't have shite on this guy. Lee is a fricking all-american compared to Howard. How many interceptions did he throw in that game? I think I saw 5 and I only saw the end of the game.

Good God man!!!

I just finished watching that too - what a hell of way to spend Christmas afternoon!

We had some really talented players on that team - Robert Toomer was a great running back - Eddie Kennison. Should have won 'em all that year.

When I tuned in they were killing Auburn until that all-american performance by Howard kicked in in the fourth.

Think Auburn only had about 16 yards total offense in the second half. All we had to do with a late three point lead was run one play - punt and hold them. Poor call by the coaches to pass in that situation.

Just think - had LSU hung on to win that game, Hallman might have stayed around a while.

He was my high school coach my senior year. The absolute worst coach i have ever had. He stayed in the bars most of the time fwiw.

i was unlucky enough to be at that game... one of the most dominating defensive performances I've ever seen. Defense gave up 3 points in the 30something to 28 loss... should have let the defense play both ways and let the linebacker take the snap. I never forget 3rd and 3, we're up by 4 or 5, just do anything except pass the ball. What do we do... pick 6. Beginning of the end for Curly!
(thank goodness)

Howard received death threats, moving boxes, the works after that game. He ultimately had a great attitude about it. After the "Bring Back the Magic" game in 1995, he said, "I didn't do anything special, I just didn't throw three interceptions that were returned for touchdowns."

More of a baseball player who could play a little QB, but a great competitor and a Great Tiger - Jamie Howard.

I thought I remember his (or someone else's) car getting jacked up around that time.

To Jamie's credit he actually came back to have a pretty good year the next year until he got hurt and Herb Tyler started the rest of the season.

I was in favor of starting Howard in the bowl game as it was his SR year and he was healthy again but that didn't happen and he didn't even get to play in that game.

Yea, I was there too. That is the toughest loss I've experienced in person. Damn long ride home.
